Teen duo seek movie stars Phillip Rollo Two budding movie makers are looking to launch their careers by creating their first ever feature length film. Garin College students Alexei D’Ath, 16, and Jake Robinson, 14, are about to take on a feature length film about a group of teenagers that overcome bullying and they’re hoping to predominantly use disabled actors. Alexei has spina bifida and is hoping to include other people with disabilities. “For me, I have a disability and I know what it is like to have one. So I want to help people with a disability and give them this fun opportunity to be in a movie,” he says. Alexei says working with multi media is something that has always interested him and making his first ever film would be a great experience. The plot will be based around a school boy called Sam. “It’s based around their life at high school and all of the problems they come across,” says Jake. Jake will be doing the music for the project as well as starring in it. The pair are now in the process of securing volunteer actors for the movie. There are no requirements for the acting roles. Seventeen to 20 years-olds will be used as bullies and children, and teenagers will fil the extra positions. Adults will also be needed.
