Remember last year? Well this is bigger, much bigger. Not only is it mate against mate in the division one final, as Wanderers take on Waimea Old Boys. But this year the division two sides from both clubs will also play each other in the final, creating a massive day of club rugby for the region at Trafalgar Park this Saturday. Last year Waimea Old Boys won their first title since 2002 by stunning Wanderers 51-22 in front of thousands of supporters. Wanderers have been starved of silverware since 1955, but go into the final as the top team, finishing in first place after the round robin stage and will be eager to put last

Supporters are encouraged to dress in their teams colours – blue and gold for Wanderers, and red and white for Waimea Old Boys. Entry to the ground is by gold coin and no alcohol is allowed to be taken in the ground. But food and drinks, including alcohol, will be sold in the park. More on page 26.
