It’s Time To Reset And Recharge
It’s an occupational hazard. We magazine editors tend to imagine that we know just what you need. Right about now, for instance, we visualize readers as exhausted from making and maintaining earnest self-improvement resolutions and sometimes—yup— quickly falling short. (Maybe it’s because we ourselves are subject to the same experiences, hopes and stumbles.)
Whether or not you’re on track with your resolutions, it can’t hurt to set new goals. To that end, there will be much in this issue to interest you—because health concerns us all. Are you wondering which of today’s fitness trends best meets your needs? Read about five hot workouts and how they can work for you (page 28). Is it time to buy new fitness gear (page 14) or add a healthy soup to your menu (page 34)? Ready for a relaxing vacation (page 32)? I hope these and all the other stories in this issue will help you be the best you can be.
Speaking of the best, it’s also the time of year when we turn to you, our readers, and ask which businesses you believe are the county’s finest. Ballots for the annual Readers’ Choice contest are now live, and you can vote and support your favorite restaurants, retailers, professional services and more—there are more than 70 categories! We’ll reveal the winners in our September issue, but start voting now. Visit monmouthhealthandlife.com/monmouthvote2023 to cast your online ballot.

To those who have missed our annual celebration of the Readers’ Choice winners, I’m proud to share that we are debuting the Monmouth Wine and Food Experience in March. It’s a festival featuring dozens of local restaurants and caterers, many of whom you’ve voted for in previous “best of” surveys. The party takes place March 30 at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank. Get your tickets now at monmouthhealthandlife.com.

This time of year can be a challenge—but there’s so much to look forward to. We at Monmouth Health & Life are eager to meet up with many of you again in March. Until then, enjoy this issue.

We are proud to welcome Dr. Christy Silk as a new associate in our office, after having graduated from Life University in June 2021. Dr. Christy is Webster Certified and is pursuing Pregnancy & Pediatric Postgraduate Certification through the same ICPA program as Dr. Rob. Specializing in prenatal wellness care, Dr. Christy is actively helping to grow our practice through referrals from midwives, obstetricians, doulas, patients, and community members looking to have less pelvic tension and an easier labor and delivery.
Wellness starts from within! Adjustments correct misalignments of the spine and help restore normal, healthy function. A flexible, healthy spine heals and feels completely different than a sick, stuck spine. Your spine is the oldest and most important part of your body. Choosing to take care of your spine is an important first step in maintaining your health and vitality. Choose well!
