Purpose of the Forum’s Strategic Plan To enable co-ordinated advocacy to statutory agencies for actions that will achieve identified outcomes for: – Water – Biodiversity – People

Strategic Plan Outcomes

•  The mauri (life-supporting capacity) of the rivers, streams and wetlands is protected throughout the catchments. •  Our waterbodies are enhanced and protected from contaminants. •  Water allocation is managed sustainably for in-stream and out of stream values.


Strategic Plan Outcomes Biodiversity •  The health of the Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park is restored – bring back the birds. •  The indigenous biodiversity beyond the forest park is enhanced.



Strategic Plan Outcomes People •  People understand and appreciate the multiple values of the Kaimai Mamaku catchments. •  The Tauranga Moana and Waihou River catchments are sustainably managed to contribute to the environmental, cultural, economic and social wellbeing of the Bay of Plenty and Waikato communities. •  People understand and practice sustainable land and water management (including biodiversity). •  The Forum is recognised as the key voice for the Kaimai Mamaku communities, and is effectively engaged in planning and funding opportunities relating to the Kaimai Mamaku project area.
