What? A Silly Idea Works! 4. Raise Your Glass! Celebrate Yourself For the Ever Step You Make in Piano Do you know there are two type of people in the big category. One is the cheerful and happy and making himself or herself positive for everything he or she does. One is the pessimistic and sarcastic and making himself or herself negative for everything he or she does. I would like to be the first one and how about you? Most of us the mixture of those characters and it depends on the situation as well. I found it through the 25 years of experience in teaching, the students come to take piano lessons not only because they want to play piano but also they want to listen to the praise words or the recognition from me how they doing and what they do in the daily life as well. This is not only for the children or teenagers but actually more for the adults. The adults have more issues in their lives like jobs, family, payments or relationships. Once you got out from high school or away from the parents care, who would praise you and who could take care of your small achievement? I strongly recommend you to get the nice cheer leader for yourself. It will enrich your piano progression enjoyable and rewarding. How you can do is the small silly idea with the stickers! Step1: Make a small goal. For example, letʼs play the introduction part ( 4 bars ) with Right Hand, Left Hand and Hands Together. You might have no idea in the beginning how far you can do in 30 minutes or 5 days of your practice. Step 2: Once you think achieve the goal you made, make a mark or put the stickers with the date you completed. The visible and visual achievement is very important. Why those Olympic athletes get the medals and those actors get the Oscar trophies? Because itʼs nice to be recognized from others without saying anything. Itʼs a symbol. And that would cheer you up every time you see the stickers. “I did it before! Iʼm not so bad. Actually Iʼm pretty good at this. Iʼll do the good job next time as well!”

What? A Silly Idea Works! 4. Raise Your Glass! Celebrate Yourself For the Ever Step You Make in Piano Step 3: Once your whole song is done, make the opportunity to perform the song. If you are in the local music school or with your teacher, they would have the recital or the year end concert. If you are by yourself doing it, how about make your recording with camcorder? Share on the internet video site or social network site. Many non-professional musicians are uploading their videos and I think those are great. You can select the unlisted or private, you just want to keep it private as well. Making it visible and memorable is always put the encouragement for the next time. Even you thought you are not so great, please think positively. That means you have a lot of room to improve. Itʼs fun to have the challenge, isnʼt it?
