elcome to the Brand new look Pitstop. We have been working hard on the new look and content to give you the best coverage of the club and its members. The Club has over 50 active racing members and we endeavor to cover all their racing activities. We will also highlight members competing in the Winton Sprint Series. We have set up a sub committee comprising of myself (Matthew Ronke), Heather Wallace, Brian Nightingale, Dianne Stolz and Judy McDonlad and beleive me its not a closed shop the more the better I say. Brian Nightingale has done a terrific job of covering all the members racing activities this month. 28 members hit the circuits around Australia with some great results
coming in. Bruce Henley, Steve Richards and Hayley Swanson were the only ones to make it to multiple venues this month. Our Members raced at Sydney Motorsport park, Townsville, Winton, Wakefield, Sandown and Calder Park in July which is a very wide coverage. We will keep a keen eye on Natsoft but if we miss you we apologise but if you really want to be covered just shoot us an email or phone call and we will make sure we get some coverage of your activities. It was a shame the Benalla Auto Club team had to withdraw from the Wakefield Park 6 hour due to a few of the cars not being ready in time. Terry Nightingale, Phil Portea, Ian kegg, Adam Ronke were all set to represent BAC. All four had competed before in the Daewoo Teams, Adam won the event two years ago and three years ago Ian was the driver with the best overall Regularity factor. Hopefully 2014 we can have a Benalla Auto Club team back on the Grid. One of the more clever ideas I have seen was at
this years Six Hour. Drivers having to suited up ready for a long time often get agitated and use up a lot of their concentration thinking about the race before they hit the circuit. The NSWRRC overcome this by giving the qued up drive an Ipad and letting them play games to keep them relaxed. The NSWRCC had their best year at the Six Hour finishing third so I will let you be the judge of its works or not. Another area with Pitstop we are looking at is giving the members the option of an electronic download of Pitstop. I personally love my copy in the mail but we need to cater for everyone and give the option. Its been nearly 10 years since I last edited Pitstop. I hopefully can do another 12 months stint and look forward to your feedback. So if you see one of the Pitstop Sub committee members around the Track don’t be afraid to give your feedback after all this is a club magazine and we need to cover what you want covered.
COMMITTEE BREIFS One important issue the club is facing is the change of its constitution. In November 2012 the Victorian Government changed the Victorian Incorporated Associations ACT and the new act places Incorporated Associations constitutions out of date. The Act provides provision to operate under the club’s current constitution for twelve months. Clubs have until November 26th 2013 to have a new constitution put in place or the club will revert to the model rules for incorporated associations. The model rules are very general and the Benalla Auto Club has in the past had its own constitution to govern the operations of the club specific to its needs. It was last changed in 1993. To have a new constitution put in place in needs to be drawn up and then voted upon by the members before it is checked by the Department of Justice and passed as the constitution of the
4
Benalla Auto Club. Therefore the Committee of the Benalla Auto Club is calling for all interested Club members to apply to the committee with the intent of forming a working group to write the changes from model rules to form a proposed constitution for submission to the members. Applications can be made by phoning Heather Wallace at the Winton Office on (03) 57664235 Annual General Meeting Briefs The 2013 Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday July 23rd by nearly 100 people. The meeting passed last year’s minutes and any matters arising from those . The President (Bruce Robertson) gave his report for the year and recounted all the good work that had been done around the club and how the club needs to progress in the future. The President then announced the
award winners for 2012. Patricia Watt Award - Merilea Manning Since Merilea started working as a voluntary official she has become a regular at the circuit not only for race meetings, but makes her time available at Sprint meetings, Fun Days and other events. Merilea has really taking hold of the operation of the pre grid area and since Ron Grealey has taken over the Noise Control area, Merilea has become a very efficient, friendly Chief Pre Grid Marshall. Race Control knows that when the Pre Grid is ready for release it will be done efficiently. Bruce Watt Award - Michael Ronke (posthumously) Over the many years that Michael Ronke has been associated with the Club he has never received any
AUGUST 2013 awards and more particularly this very important award. As we all know, Mick has given many, many hours to the Club, being part of the working bees of a Sunday, driving to Melbourne to attend meetings and functions on behalf of the Club, working at home of a night time making sure that event documentation was prepared and sent out. These being only a few of the hours of time that Mick has put into the Club. A more dedicated Club Member and more worthy recipient of the Bruce Watt Award would be very hard to find. Club Member of the Year - Judi McDonald The Benalla Auto Club Member for 2012 is constantly promoting Benalla Auto Club and Winton Motor Raceway to all Judi comes in contact with. This member can be found in the Paddock areas at the circuit on a regular basis and is constantly arriving at the circuit Administration office for a restock of Club memberships and calendars to hand out to circuit visitors and users promoting activities at the circuit. As an ambassador for the Club, Judi thoroughly deserves the 2012 Club Member of the Year Award. The Secretary, Heather Wallace gave her report. Heather acknowledged the work of Michael Ronke the previous secretary who passed away on April 30th. She also acknowledge the work of Mary Stafford Life member and outlined how the Ladies Auxiliary had now be rolled into the Auto Club. The Treasurer’s & Auditor’s report was presented to the meeting by Treasurer Matthew Ronke. The Auditor report was read and accepted by the meeting. The Treasurer’s report included a Q&A about the financial report. The Club returned a record profit in 2013. Nominations for the four Committee positions which were to be filled for the BAC year ending 2013 were read to the meeting with each nominee being given the opportunity to introduce themselves to the members. The 7 nominees for the 4 vacant positions were Trevor Lee, Warren Sheehan, Stuart Thompson,
Daryl McHugh, Gary Bennett, John Arrandal and Steven Harrison. Following the conduct of a ballot the following nominees were elected to the Committee for 2013 - Warren Sheehan, Gary Bennett, Trevor Lee and Stephen Harrison. Following the Committee elections, there was a call for nominations of the Office Bearers of the Club. The nominations for president were Richard Weston and Bruce Robertson. As there were two nominations, a ballot was held and Richard Weston was elected President. Vice President is Warren Sheehan who was unopposed for this position as was the nomination of the Secretary, Heather Wallace and Treasurer Matthew Ronke.

It was also proposed that Working Bees once again be held at the Club, particularly prior to events and other important activities at the circuit. Working Bees over the years have been quite successful at Winton and are not only supporting the work being done during the week at the circuit but are also social events where members can come together, get to know one another better away from the stresses of conducting race meetings. The Committee are also proposing to hold information nights every three months or so to give members an opportunity to discuss what is happening at the circuits, have any concerns addressed as well as giving members the opportunity to have input into the facility and operations of the Club. With the holding of the AGM, the putting in place of the Executive Officers for both the Winton and Wakefield circuits, the attention of the Club, its members and the administration are being channelled into the upcoming Winton Festival of Speed meeting which is being held over the weekend of the 10 & 11 August, followed two weeks later with the Winton round of the 2013 V8 Supercars on the 23 – 25 August.

NSW STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS SYDNEY MOTORSPORT PARK JUNE 23 - There were two members of the club competing at the NSW State Championships meeting at Sydney Motorsport Park on June 23, both in Superkarts. Dennis Gizas drove the Yellow Tail Wines Arrow AX8 A Max and Wayne Horswell the AASA-MRA Superkart Racing Team Phoenix Hypermax. Giza did the best in qualifying posting the 4th time in Class E and 24th outright, while Horswell was 5th and 26th. Race 1 saw Gizas slip to 5th (26th) and Horswell 4th (24th), then the second race saw Gizas 3rd in Class E and 21st out-
6
right while Horswell finished 5th in Class E. The 3rd race saw Horswell come through for third in Class E and 12st outright while Gizas was 5th and 26th (outright). The fourth and final event for Superkarts finished with Horswell continuing on placing 18th outright and third in Class E, while Gizas was 23rd and 5th in Class.
WAKEFIELD PARK MRA JUNE 30 - There are always several Benalla Auto Club members competing at the Wakefield Park meetings, and that was no different at the second round of the MRA Series combining the annual All British Day. Hayley Swanson made the trip north with the Rapidrs, Intima, Tampered Motorsport Subaru WRX and competed in the Super TT, while Sydney based member Terry Denovan was driving the Motor Racing Australia 3.5 litre V8 Triumph
Dolomite. Swanson qualified 9th in the WRX, then R1 saw her take the flag in 6th, followed by a 4th in R2 and when it looked as if a podium finish in the trophy race was beckoning a spin dropped her to 16th. Denovan put the Dolomite 17th on the grid, and then improved throughout the day as he finished 12th, 13th and then a very impressive 5th in the Trophy Race. The very exiting NSW Excel Racing Championship contained one member, Ian Kegg who is one of the series favourites. At the third round at the MRA round Kegg qualified on pole in his Ian Kegg Motorsport Excel, and with three rival competitors put on some of the greatest racing imaginable, with cars three and four wide in each race, before he won the first, finished third in the second reverse grid, and second in the Trophy Race.

VMRC WINTON RACEWAY JULY 6/7 - There was a huge number of club members competing at their home base at Winton Motor Raceway when the 2nd round of the Victorian Motor Racing Championship was conducted over the weekend of July 6/7. Sports Sedans attracted two starters, and both had mixed fortunes, with Anthony Koch driving his A&K Equipment P/L Nissan 510, and Bruce Henley in the Stawell Cartage Mazda RX7. Both qualified well, with Koch putting the Datto 7th on the grid and 5th of the Under 2 Litres, while Henley just out of the top 10 in 11th, and 4th of the Over 2 Litres. The first race on Saturday over 6 laps saw Henley finSteve Richards at Sydney motorsport Park
ish 12th and 10th of the O/2L while Koch retired on the 3rd lap. Saturday’s second race saw Henley fail to start while Koch finished, but back in 17th and 9th U/2L. The third Sports Sedan race and their first on Sunday saw Koch take the flag 12th and 7th U/2L and Henley was listed as a DNF after he retired on Lap 4 of 10. The fourth and final race of the weekend and Henley was 12th outright and 7th U/2L, while Koch retired on his first lap. Ross Wilson was the only club member in the Vic V8’s which had qualifying and only one race on Saturday, but had a busy Sunday with three races. Wilson drove his #28 Albury Cabi-
net Coatings 5 litre Ford Falcon AU, and in qualifying was 5th quickest, and then he picked up his best result of the weekend in Race 1 when he finished a fine 3rd and then in Sunday’s three races finished 6th and 7th twice. The Super TT’s were joined by cars from the Mazda MX-5’s, Miniature Racing Cars and the Pulsar Series, and as such there were 33 cars that fronted for qualifying, incredibly 11 of those driven by Benalla Auto Club members. They were Hayley Swanson in her Radid RS / Intima / Tampered Motorsport Subaru WRX, Corey Gooch in his Holden Torana L 5700, Ross Wood driving the Ross Wood Electrical Nissan Skyline, Stephen Harrison in the Transgears & Diffs/ Lucas Oils 6 cylinder Ford Falcon EA, and the Albury Cabinet Coatings 4000 litre Ford Falcon driven by Ethan Wilson. On top of that was the Yarrawonga Car Care Holden Commodore driven by Steven Murray, and Albury young gun Amin Chahda in the Falcon Spares & Repairs Ford Falcon also competed. Then there was Matt Thewlis in the 1600cc Toyota MR2, David Dixon driving the 1.8 litre Autobarn Bendigo Holden Gemini, Bruce Hen-

ley doing double duty in the Stawell Cartage RX7 and the two Tampered Motorsport entries for Adam Ronke (Mazda MX5) and Phil Portea (Mitsubishi Evo) that did not front for qualifying. Best of them in qualifying was Henley who put the RX7 2nd on the grid with a gritty performance, then Chahda next best in 3rd, Swanson 8th, Wood 17th, Gooch 20th, Murray 21st, Wilson 24th and the two 4 cylinder cars with Dixon 30th and Thewlis 31st. As they gridded up for race one Henley was a non starter, leaving Chahda the best of the Benalla Auto Club members finishing 3rd, Swanson doing a good job and showing how much she has improved through stints in Aussie Racing Cars and V8 Utes getting up to 5th, and one of the drives of the race was Ronke starting from grid position 34 and fighting his way through the traffic to finish 12th and best of the MX5’s, while a similar effort was put in by teammate Portea who started
8
alongside the boss on the back row and came home 17th in the Mitsubishi Evo. The remaining club members were Wood (19th) Murray (20th), Wilson (23rd), Dixon (26th), Gooch (33rd) and Thewlis (33rd). Their remaining Saturday event Race 2 saw Chahda drop down the order to 10th, but Swanson continued her eye catching performance by finishing on the podium in third place, while Gooch had the Torana firing on all 8 and came from 31st to finish 7th, while Wood too made inroads into the field by come from 19th to 9th. Next best was Wilson 23rd, Murray 26th and then the two battling 4 cylinders, Thewlis 28th and Dixon 29th. After great performances in R1, both Ronke and Portea failed to finish, with the former retiring on lap 7 of 8 and Portea earlier on L7. Race 3 over ten laps saw Gooch continue the charge and finish best of the BAC members by coming home 4th, Murray was 20th, Dixon
27th and Thewlis 29th, while Swanson, Wood, Wilson and Portea all failed to finish and both Chahda and Ronke did not start. Gooch had problems and dropped to 10th, while there was a spectacular battle from the rear of the grid between Swanson who finished 11th in the WRX and Henley who was back on track after missing the first three races and he finished 12th. Murray was 17th and Wilson 21st. Amazingly, Thewlis and Dixon swapped places again, finishing 26th and 27th respectively. The Battling four cylinders changed positions each of the four races. The same weekend but much further north at Townsville, there were Benalla Auto Club members competing at the Sugrogen Townsville 400 meeting, including Dean Fiore driving the Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport / Dodo Insurance Racing Holden Commodore VF in the V8 Supercar Championship. For Saturday’s Race 20 of the Championship, Fiore started 28th

on the grid and he came home 20th, which was a good drive, and then on Sunday qualified 25th and took the flag 24th. The V8 Utes saw Nathan “Nitrous” Pretty compete in the Milwaukee Racing Holden Ute VE, and he claimed the ARMOR ALL Pole Award and $1000 cash, along with a new qualifying record. He then went on to finish second in R1 4th in R2 ahead of solid wins in Races 3 & 4, and also the round. Steven Richards was competing in the 2013 Porsche Carrera Cup Australian Championship in the Laser Plumbing & Electrical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and after he qualified 3rd he went on to finish 5th in the first two races and then 4th in the 3rd and final race. There were also two members competing in the extremely dramatic third round of the Dunlop V8 Supercar Development Series with Rodney Jane in his Rodney Jane Racing Ford Falcon FG, and Taz Douglas also in a Ford FG.
Both very experienced drivers, Jane and Douglas were unfortunately became mixed up in incidents during the round. Douglas qualified 6th, but then at a restart got mixed up in an incident and finished 26th in R1, and then Race 2 saw him come home 18th ahead a much better while the finished 9th in the 3rd event, After qualifying 17th Jane stayed out of trouble in the first two races, but was mixed up in a multiple crash after another restart and had to retire the FG with extensive damage. The Shannons Nationals round at Sydney Motorsport Park on 13/14 July saw to club drivers competing, with John Morriss in the GT3 Cup Challenge where he qualified 8th in the GT3 Factory/Copyworld Porsche 911, and went on to finish 6th in all three races. Steven Richards fronted in the Australian GT Championship driving a Lamborghini Gallardo with Justin McMillan and after setting fastest time in P1 failed to start R1
after an incident in qualifying, but in the second one hour race started from the rear of the grid and finished 7th. The 3rd round of the Victorian State Racing Championship was run at Sandown Raceway on 21 July and saw John Smallman (Ford Escort RS 1600) and Andrew Girvan (Torana XU-1 LJ) compete in Historic Touring. Qualifying saw Small finish 16th and Girvan 24th after only posting one timed lap. Girvan recovered for R1 and finished 10th, as he did in the remaining two races while Smallman finished 9th in the first and 12th in the final two. Bruce Henley drove his Mazda RX7 in Improved Production Touring and after qualifying 23rd went on to finish 24th, 12th and 13th. In Superkarts, the 5th round of the VKSC was conducted at Calder on 20July, BAC’s Russ Occhipinti qualified 2nd in 125 Max Light, the in the races and finished 3rd in all three races.

NATHAN PRETTY TAKES TOWNSVILLE ROUND WIN The V8 Utes round podium at the Sucrogen Townsville 400
N
athan Pretty has won the the fourth round of the Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series at the Sucrogen Townsville 400 this weekend. Pretty’s Race 3 win coupled with second and fourth respectively in Races 1 and 2 was enough to head Kim Jane and Ryal Harris home for the overall round victory. Stephen White secured the win
in Race 2 today after a great start off the front row of the grid to bring his Dunlop Super Dealer Holden home in first. “It’s nice to bounce back after a couple of disappointing rounds,” said Pretty. “Grabbing pole, winning a race and the weekend its exactly what I needed to do and it’s good to get the morale up in the team.”
“The best thing I can do is win races to get back into the championship as certain things were out of my control and now we’re back on track,” added Pretty. In post-race scrutineering, Jeremy Gray, Adam Marjoram and Stephens White’s Ute’s were all deemed by race officials to not comply with the technical regulations for the series, and were excluded from Race 3.
Richo’s Townsville Racewrap
I
ts one of the biggest race events of the year at the Sucrogen Townsville 400. A crowd in excess of 140,000 people came along to cheer on their favourite teams. It also marked the 4th round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship. Practice went very well, topping the first session until right on the flag where Michael Patrizi went a fraction faster. In the afternoon session we were 4th fastest in the hotter conditions. I also had my first run of Mark Winterbottoms car on Friday. At three of the V8 Supercars rounds leading up to the Endurance Championship, the co drivers get to have a ‘fang’ of their respective driving partners cars. We had two sessions. The first was great as we gave the car a bit of a tune up and ended the session fastest. Everyone ran that session on the harder ‘control’ tyre. The second session was all about doing a long 20 lap run to put some miles on the tyres and see where the car was at. It
was good re familiarisation. My start in race 1 was good. Not enough to jump a row, but good enough to maintain third place. We headed down into turn 1 and both Bairdo and Nick moved to the inside to defend. Third and fourth were close behind so I elected to do the same. Luffy went down the outside and managed to make it stick, moving ahead of me for 3rd. That moment was pretty pivotal for the weekend as it turns out. From my perspective anyway. Its a very difficult circuit to overtake on. Luffy got on the brakes earlier than I anticipated and I had to jig a little to avoid hitting the back of him. Running wide allowed Michael Patrizi through. We were running very close to one another in 3rd, 4th and 5th when the safety car was deployed. Luffy and Michael jumped on the brakes and I ran into the back of Michael. This later had the effect of the front splitter coming adrift. As well as making the little Porsche look good, they also have a big effect
on the performance of the car. It helps to create a lot of front downforce, so once we lost that it was just a matter of hanging on for 5th. Bairdo won from Nick and Luffy. Race 2 was another tough affair. I made a good escape from the startline and held station. It was a pretty uneventful race and 5th was the end result. Bairdo from Nick then Luff. Race 3 was a cracker. It was on for young and old. Bairdo made a bit of an escape, but for the rest of us it was on!! There was a fair bit of tit for tat and push and shove. Nick damaged a wheel and lost his front radiator. Michael Patrizi shoved it up the inside of me, before I managed to get him back a few laps later. The Laser Racing Porsche closed the gap to Luffy but in the end 3rd place was the result. That keeps us 4th in the Championship only a couple of points from Nick, but a way off Bairdo in the lead. Next up we head off to Winton in central Victoria. This is our home track.

BP Midland Pedders”NoBull” Winton Sprints
The third round of the BP Midland / Pedders “No Bull” sprints had a smaller than usual line up but with bad weather forecast the day turned out to get a decent run on the track. The biggest field of the day was the H2 class with good representation from Super TT and H1 class as well. 16 Members lined up on the day with wins
going to Gordon Douglas in the Turbo Class and Bryson llyod in the H1 Clas. Placings were Keith Menere in Class A and Laurie Weston in the Super TT class. Another member to put in a show was Life Member Frank Wellman, lowering his fastest ever time with his commodore. Canberra’s Daryl Bush made the trip down
once again in his WRC Sainz Corolla and the fastest time of the day was set by Kevin Mackrell in his “Viagra” All wheel drive 260Z with a 5.7L chevy on board setting a 1 minutes 28 second lap. The fourth round of the BP Midland / Pedders “No Bull” Winton sprints will be held on September

EVANGELOU BREAKS THREE-YEAR KUMHO ROUND WIN DROUGHT Former V8 Touring Car champion collects Winton round victory as series debutante Simpson claims final race
F
ORMER Kumho Tyres Australian V8 Touring Car Series champion Tony Evangelou has claimed victory in Round 3 of the 2013 series at Winton Motor Raceway today. Driving an ex-Jason Bright/Ford Performance Racing in its original CAT colours, Evangelou claimed victory in today’s opening ninelap race – his first race win in 12 months - and finished second to young gun Ryan Simpson in the 15-lap final. He finished second in yesterday’s opening race of three to claim his first round win since Eastern Creek in 2010. “It’s great for the team after not having such a good start to the weekend,” said Evangelou, who now sits third in the series, 19 points behind leader Shae Davies. “The young blokes were fast and Ryan (Simpson) has been instantly on the pace so we’ll go back and try to make our car faster for the next round.” Simpson, making his Kumho Series debut in a Triple Eightbuilt, ex-Craig Lowndes BF Falcon, finished second in today’s opening race after clutch problems and a lowly 11th place in Race 1 on
14
Saturday. He seized the lead of Race 3 on lap four from Evangelou and drove away to an 11.2-second victory to take second for the round and claim victory in the sequential gearbox class. “I really wanted to win a race this weekend and I would have liked to have won the round,” said Simpson. “We had good pace in qualifying yesterday and took pole but we had to change the clutch after Race 1.” Shae Davies managed to build his series lead across the weekend, third place for the round helping him build his points lead over Mallala round winner Terry Wyhoon into an eight point advantage by the end of the weekend. Davies crossed the line third in Race 2, but was penalised 30-seconds post-race and demoted to 18th for contact with Morgan Haber. He finished third in the final race but didn’t have the pace to match Simpson or Evangelou. “It was a tough day after winning the first race yesterday,” said Davies post-round. “We had a few dramas and what I felt was a tough penalty in Race 2.
We just didn’t have the pace in the last race though.” 2011 champion Terry Wyhoon finished fourth for the weekend ahead of Toowoomba’s Nathan Assaillit, who had a solid weekend to record his first top five round result. 2012 series runner-up Jim Pollicina finished sixth for the round after another tough weekend that also included a spin in Race 2 after contact with Wyhoon. Sydney’s Steve Briffa finished seventh for the weekend in his Ozzy Tyres/IGA Commodore with V8 Supercar Development Series driver Sam Walter eighth in a oneoff series start. Walter’s ex-Jason Richards/Tasman Motorsport Commodore suffered intermittent engine misfire problems in both races today as well as a spin in Race 3. South Australian Dan Day finished ninth for the round while Matt Hansen started from the front row for the last race and was on target for a podium result before being tapped into a spin in Race 3 and collected by the following Morgan Haber. Both cars were eliminated by the contact and Hansen finished 10th for the round.
MUSCAT AND GOODACRE TAKE WINTON ROUND WIN
S
eries front-runner Richard Muscat has claimed his second consecutive round clean sweep at the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia presented by Pirelli series’ third round at Winton Motor Raceway, while John Goodacre impressed with the Elite Class victory and second outright for the round. Following victory in Saturday’s opening race, Muscat continued at the front in Sunday’s Race 2, pulling away from the field to take a four-second win from Goodacre, Fraser Ross and John Morriss, who were all embroiled in an exciting three-way contest for second for the majority of the race. Stephen Grove drove impressively to place fifth ahead of Michael Almond, Peter Fitzgerald, Jack Falla, Scott Taylor and Phil Woodbury, who overcame gearbox dramas on Saturday only to be forced to make a tyre change in Race 2 to finish 10th. Goodacre then jumped to the front of the field at the start of Race 3 and led for the opening three laps until Muscat again took the lead of the race and drove to a nine-second victory from Goodacre, Woodbury, Almond and Morriss. Fitzgerald finished in fifth from Grove, Taylor, Ross, John
Karytinos and Falla. Muscat was pleased with his sixth straight win of the season and his second round victory of 2013. “We’re on a great streak at the moment and the guys at the team are doing a great job at the moment,” said Muscat. Meanwhile Goodacre was ecstatic with scoring second for the round and his third straight Elite Class round win. “We had an awesome weekend. It was great to get the Elite Class win, but it was even better to come second outright for the round ahead of some of the Professional Class drivers,” said Goodacre. “I’ve won every race so far this year in the Elite Class except one. We hope to continue the rest of the year well and hopefully win the rest. “My aim is to always finish in the top three overall in each round; I’m always going for the outright win. I always want to race up the front with the best guys in the field, so it’s great to mix it with them and, on occasions, beat them.” Muscat’s race win clean sweep was made sweeter with three fastest laps, one of which, with a time of 1:33.1023, breaking the previous lap record.
T
he Dial Before You Dig Saloon Cars that ended the round in style today with their second ever endurance race – won by Holden driver, Wayne King. King turned the tables on race one winner Simon Tabinor in today’s 30-lap race – the first time in the series history that the six cylinder Holden-v-Ford category had moved away from their traditional sprint race format. After being caught out by the safety car yesterday, King had no such issues today and swept to the victory, with Tabinor coming second to King and Ford Falcon driver Travis Sharpe completing the top three. King and Tabinor drew level on points for the weekend, but it was the Adelaide driver who was handed the round victory by virtue of his win in today’s second race. It was King’s second round victory of the season, having triumphed at Mallala earlier this season. Andrew Nowland (Ford) and Harley Phelan (Holden) completed the top five in a successful first-up endurance effort for the category.

AUGUST 2013
T
he Annual All British meeting was once again run and won at Wakefield Park. This year had a few extra British cars and a total of 128 entries hit the Track for the annual event. The Meeting had categories such as The All Triumph Race, All Mini race, All British including Jaguars, Healy’s, MG’s and Lotus. Thrown in for additional support were Super TT, Sports Sedans and Hyundai Excel’s as part of round 3 of the MRA series. The All triumph race was a Handicap event with handicap places determined from qualifying and race 1. Chris Swingler took out the race ahead in a TR7 ahead of Mark Lamour in a Dolomite with with John Lamond in his TR2 third. Race 3 was the Trophy race and starting positions were a combination of the early to races. John Newell took the win in his V8 TR7 ahead of Greg Morsillo in a TR8 and Mark Lamour in the Dolomite. The All British race had several marques represented. But is was the modern day horse power of Damian Hartin in his Lotus Exige that ran away with the Victory. Second once again the bridesmaid was Triumph drive Greg Morsillo and third was Rob Byrnes in his Morris Cooper S. The Big Jags of Jac Cousins and Bruce Grant also feared well.
The All Mini race was won by Canberra’s Santino Di Carlo in his Morris Cooper S with Chris Adlam in a Leyland second and Syd Crawford in a Taylorspeed third. Fourth home was teh First BMW Mini of Linda Devlin with Allan Ross Peter Crocker and Rocky Canto having a good dice for fifth. Warren Bell has a touch with the wall, it was the cars first time back on track after 18 months rebuilding after a nasty accident at Wakefield. The MRA Categories had a good showing as well. Terry Denovan and Hayley Swanson were the BAC members contesting Super TT while Ian Kegg represented the Club in the Hyundai Excels. Kegg took out the round showing a masterful display of driving on the half dry half wet circuit. He beat home Formula 3 driver Nathan Gotch for the AG sport Team and Tarmac Magazine editor Dean Evans was third in his debut to the series. Super TT was won by Adam Burgess in his Nissan GTR. Burgess lead early and stayed ahead of his father Craig Burgess in an RX7 but had contact with Daniel Deckers in the MX5 taking them both out of the race. Henry Draper came home second in the BMW Mini and last years NSW champion Darren Pearce in his EVO was third. Terry Denovan was fifth in his Triumph Dolomite and Hayley Swanson in the WRX 16th. Other categories that competed were Mazda MX5’s won by Luke Otten, Sports Sedans won by Stuart Inwood in his AU Falcon Supercar and the Regularity won by Lance McGrath in his XR8 Ute. The next round of the MRA is on September 14/15 which will incorporate around of the Super Truck championships.

The Wakefield Report
T
he July month at Wakefield Park has been one of the quieter months so far this year. It has been an unseasonable cold Winter in Goulburn and with flash flooding a few weeks ago seems to have kept a few people away. We had a big few days with V8 Race visiting us and managed to get through their five days with just one day washed out from the rain. The V8 race days bring in hundreds of people each day they operate to Wakefield and gives great exposure to the venue and we find many people returning with their own car for one of our speed off the street days. We have just the one race event the 2013 Wakefield 6 Hour regularity which for the fourth year in a row threw some rain in the mix which always make a regularity interesting. After twice finishing second the NSW WRX club won the event and I don’t think anyone deserved it as much as them after the effort they had put in for the past couple of years.
18
The new pit wall has certainly made the facility a lot safer and we had impressive response from CAMS and the NSW Police at our recent Track Inspections. The Wall is planned to continue further round the venue and we hope to have that completed sometime by years end. Our maintenance crews are busy build new tyre bundles to replace the out of shape and deformed barriers. Also making the place look pretty “swish” is the archway at the entrance of the facility that has been taken over by Hankook. The archway has a very clean and fresh look to it and impressive everyone as the drive in. Other new sponsor to come on board include deckspeed and CSC global. NSW Time Attack was a terrific new event at Wakefield for 2013. It was won by Rick Bates doing a sub minute lap on street legal tyres. That times Matches the Pole Time of Grant Denyer in the last V8 Development series event and is very impressive consider-
ing the temperature for the day never got above seven degrees. Whilst entrants number weren’t high I am glad the club is investing in these type of events. World Time Attack is build a very large base especially among younger people who are not into V8’s and want more high tech and turbo based cars. The wings on these cars are very radical and I think Time Attack will certainly grow in popularity over the next few years. In August we have the CAMS State motor racing Championship and we are expecting over 160 cars to enter. We also have the St George Motorcycle Club 4 hour a couple more of our highly successful Xtreme Motorcycle Ride Days some Drift days and our Famous Speed off the Streets days. If you at Wakefield Drop in and say hi we love to have a chat. Matthew Ronke Executive Officer Wakefield Park

Round 2 of VMRC, New Catego
VIC V8’S MAKE SENSATIONAL WINTON DEBUT 3 Different winners from 4 races and plenty of action was all in the name of Holden V Ford tradition Vic V8’s made their Winton debut and their second ever event. They had a healthy 12 cars enter with a great comradery amongst competitors. Based loosely of the popular Queensland V8 series the series is quickly establishing itself as a crowd favourite as the big V8’s make a lot of noise and put a lot of horsepower down for spectators to enjoy. With a number of older commodore cup cars being eligible it certainly is a lobbed side affair between holden and Ford. The weekend had some close racing
battles with 3 of the 4 events having different winners. Race 1 was was won by Victor Argento in his big XB coupe ahead of Adam Caddeo in his ex Commodore Cup VL with BAC’s Ross Wilson in his XR8 in third. The tables turned in race 2 and with a slightly dryer track the commodore pair and teammates from Reservoir Tyrepower of Ray Seymour and Adam Caddeo went one, two with Greg Jones coming in third after starting rear of grid when an electrical problem
1.

stopped him from making the grid of race
Race 3 it was Adam Caddeo turn to take victory after 2 seconds in the opening races. Greg Jones took out second flying the Ford Flag with ray Seymour taking third in the VL Commodore. Michael Budge put in a consistent performance with his third, fourth placing from the three races. Race 4 and Ray Seymour backed up his previous race form and took Victory ahead of teammate Adam Caddeo. Caddeo did enough for the Round Victory ahead of Seymour and Michael Budge finally made the podium and also took out third for the round. In fifth spot for the round was Ross Wilson who was the first Ford home. The first non Commodore Holden was Steve Jones in his V8 Torana. The series heads to Phillip Island for round 3 before heading back to Winton later in the year. It was a very successful debut at Winton and without doubt a category that is worth watching.

SPORTS SEDAN MAGIC AT VMRC The Victorian Sports Sedan Championship mixed with the Under 2 Litre Cars and Over 2 Litre cars for round 2 of the VMRC. Usually the under 2 Litre are content with watching the bigger horsepower cars drive away but with adverse weather conditions for race 1 it was a role reversal. Scott manson in his BMW JCW Mini took out race one with Brett Dickie in his Honda Prelude second and Hayden Clark in a Datsun in third. The first Over 2 Litre cars was fourth outright Graeme Gilliland in a Mazda RX7. In fact under 2 litre cars made up seven of the top 10 finishers with over 2 Litre cars being mainly RX7’s in the top 10. The First Chevy powered car was Basil Stratos in a Commodore in 10th place. It was a horrific race for BAC’s Anthony Koch taking a big hit cause significant damage. Another Member Bruce Henley finished 12th. Race 2 was more familiar territory for the Over 2 Litre cars Graeme Gilliland took the victory by a significant margin storming his way past the Under 2 Litre cars. Brett Dickie held on to second in the Honda and first under 2 litre car home ahead of Dave Pettit in his Chev Comaro take the final
Podium position. Race one winner Scott Manson finished home in fourth place. Race 3 on Sunday Morning was a much faster affair with the cars lapping some 12 seconds a lap quicker than the Saturday races. Still a cold track but no rain meant the big heavier Sports Sedans were struggling for traction and Graeme Gilliland took his second win for the weekend. Stephen Craig in a Gemini managed to sneak through the field and take second with a bunch of the big Chev’s chasing him down. Chas Talbot in his Camro rounded out the podium while Brett Dickie took his second honours for the under 2 litre class. Race 4 was just 6 laps which suited the under 2 litre cars as the bigger cars didn't have time to get much heat in the tyres. But it was Graeme Gilliland that took his third Victory for the weekend. He triumphed over the first under 2 Litre car home Lee Ulhorn in another RX7 with Dave Petitt taking his second podium for the weekend. The Under 2 Litre cars once again dominated the top 10 with some of the bigger contenders havd mechanical issues.
PRB’S VISIT WINTON VMRC The NSW based PRB series made a return to Winton at the VMRC Rd 2. The PRB who have already made appearances at Phillip Island, Morgan Park, Wakefield and Sydney Motorsport Park lined up with 11 cars. The format was 2 Qualifying sessions and 3 races for the weekend. Race 1 (8 laps) of the weekend was hampered by the weather. Chris Barry got away early and stayed out front with a couple of second lead all race. Zac Le Lievre and Stuart Shirvington had the battle of the race for second place. Le Lierve the only Westfield in the race held on with Shirvington taking the final podium position. James Dick was a further 10 seconds back in fourth and Tony Blanche was the first B class home in seventh. Race 2 another 8 lap affair was much the same as race one podium wise but the order was thrown completely around. The second ace a reverse grid was held in drier conditions the cars were about three seconds a lap faster with Le Lievre taking out the win from start to finish with Shirvington once again on his heels. Race one winner Barry crossed over the line in third ahead of a fast finishing Stephan Versluis who finished in fourth. Tony Blanche was again first Class B car home and Jos Kroon managed a couple of laps after not making the grid for race one. Race 3 on Sunday afternoon saw Chris Barry return to the winners circle but he didn't have in all his way with Le Lievre taking the early race lead before Barry slipped through on lap 3. Shirvington and Versluis came together on lap seven battling for the final podium spot which let James Dick claim third ahead Warwick Williams in Fourth. Tony Blanche was once again the first Class B car home this time narrowly in front of Jos Kroon.

PRODUCTION TOURING ENDURE Production Touring made their second annual visit to Winton Raceway from their normal NSW homes. The weekend was round 2 of the Mocomm Endurance Cup with the first at Sydney motorsport park in April. 13 cars started the Enduro’s with two local Victorian’s add to spice things up. A pair of 50 minute Enduro with a compulsory pit stop was the recipe and HSV driver Steve Hodges had all the ingredients to take out the Saturday race 1. Hodges lead for the first 4 laps before Robert Coulthard also in a HSV took over the lead. Coulthard Pitted on lap 15 giving the lead back to Hodges who was the very last car to pit on lap 18. Hodges the master of pit stops came out with a big lead that would never be challenged. Victorian pair of Phil Showers and Nathan Grier jumped up to second after starting the race in fifth place. Wollongong’s Brett Healey rounded out race ones podium with all other drivers being a lap down. Neil Byers in his Mitsubishi 380 got to lap 7 before his Gearbox went
22
and Gus Barbara and Graeme Heath also failing to finish. It was also the Winton debut of the Toyota 86 in production car trim and at the hands of Chris Reeves it managed a 1 minute 42 second lap. Sunday’s Race 2 another 50 minute Enduro had a reduced field as Graeme Heath in the Pulsar and Neil Byers
in the 380 did not start. Once again Steve Hodges got away best with the HSV heading off Coulthard on lap one, the two battled hard and Coulthard eventually taking the lead on lap nine. But Hodges once again was the master of the pitstop and when everyone
shuffled through their compulsory spots he came out a long way in front and was never headed again. Coulthard got the better of Showers/Grier in race two but Grier set the fastest lap of the weekend 1 minute 35.0. Another HSV (Healey) came in fourth and C.Ludeman/M.Carra were the first Falcon home in seventh.
Hodges now leads the Mocomm Endurance Cup from Chris Reeves in his Toyota 86 after 2 rounds. The next round will be a one hour race at Wakefield Park on August 11th over 30 cars are expected to take the grid.
AUGUST 2013
SUPER TT, SUPER FIELDS, SUPER RACING
Super TT include the field for MX5, Miniature Cars and Pulsar for round 3. It was a magic field of cars differing in performance size and style. 33 cars lined up for race one with 9 members in the field it the category of choice for BAC faithful racers. Race 1 was a wet race on Saturday afternoon which suited the smaller and four wheel drive cars. Matt Thompson came
through from 11th on the grid to win the opening race streeting the field ahead of Ben Arnold in his Debut race meeting driving a Nissan GTR. The next three races were Arnolds. He showed form of a drive not in his first race but as a veteran as he peeled of some fantastic lap times to win the next 3 races. The mixed conditions meant that a number of results differed
across the races. Ross Wood powered through to the top 10 in the dry races after struggling in the wet whilst Adam Ronke lept 20 places once the track got moist include a 3 wide pass around turn 4. Hagen Skinner end up taking out the Miniature Cars and Paul Kemal was the first Pulsar Challenge car home.
Bourke’s welcome Win in E30 State championship Battle 10 BMW’s and 2 Invited Audi’s lined up for VMRC RD 2. Four races over the weekend across tricky conditions were in order for the German machines. IN Saturday’s first 6 lapper Brian Bourke took a well deserved Victory after completely rebuilding his car after a massive shunt at Bathurst earlier in the year. Geoff Bowles held on for second just ahead of Gary Pearce. The dice of the race going to Pearce, Kertes, Bell and D’anna with D’anna making a late charge to join the party but had to settle for sixth.
Race 2 Geoff Bowles swept through on Brian Bourke on lap 1 and then was never headed. Anthony D’Anna kept his race one fo and worked his way up to second with Paul Kertes once again coming in third. Bourke just held on for fourth ahead of David Levy. Race 3 was the 10 lapper and Alan Saint took a great Victory. He got a great start jumping Levy and worked his way up from 4th to first by lap 6. Geoff Bowles just held D’Anna for second and Kertes to eight just piped by Sean Bell on
the last lap of the race. 4th to 8th were covered by just 2 seconds at the finish with Bell taking the fastest lap of the race. Race 4 and Alan Saint skipped away. Sean Bell worked his way through the traffic finding late form and took second but was the length of the start finish straight behind Saint at the Finish. The rest of the field once again covered by 2 seconds at the finish in some great close racing.

V8 YOUNG GUNS TO SPICE UP WINTON 360
V
8 Young Guns will spice up the Winton Round of the 2013 V8 Supercar championship if the Queensland Raceway round is anything to go by. The Championship races were won by a couple of V8 rookies in Holden’s Scott McLaughlin and Ford’s Chas Mostret. The rookie pair impressing with both speed a maturity as the left some of their more seasoned rivals in their wake. McLaughlin, a 21 year old New Zealander has already a championship win under his belt in New Zealand early this year took the morning Sunday race in mixed conditions. He showed great maturity to hold a steady gap to championship leader Red Bull Racing’s Jamie Whincup.
With a number of drivers having tyre problems McLaughlin drove an outstanding race to win comfortable ahead of Red Bull pair Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes. Sunday’s second race was the Ford drivers turn to dominate. Dick Johnson Racing’s Chad Mostret in just his fourth main series V8 Supercar event took the early lead and was never headed. McLaughlin was closing in quick but this time it was McLaughlin who suffered from the tyre issue. A Ford 1,2,3,4 finish was the result with Ford Performance Racing taking the rest of the podium spots with thanks to Will Davison and Mark Winter bottom. McLaughlin and Mostret will return to Winton to do battle
after the going head to head with each other in the penultimate Dunlop Series round in 2012 which saw McLaughlin come out on top and strengthen his championship lead after Mostret ended beached in the turn 4 gravel trap. With both Ford and Holden putting in strong race performances and an ever improving AMG and Nissan performance at Queensland Raceway the Winton Round will certainly spice up the series leading into the endurance rounds. The Winton round of the 2013 V8 supercar championship will be held on August 23-25 and will be supported by the Dunlop V8 Development series, Careera Cup, Formula Ford, Aussie Race Cars and Historic Formula 2.

VALE TONY GAZE
R
emarkable chapter in Australia’s wartime and motor racing history has closed with the death of Tony Gaze. The gentlemanly Gaze enjoyed a long life enriched with achievements as a pioneering racer, and no-less a brave fighter pilot during WWII. During the war at the controls of a Spitfire, Gaze won the Distinguished Flying Cross three times and was credited with 12.5 aerial combat victories. Although he did not enjoy the horrors of war. Even in the heat of combat he had shown tremendous compassion for the enemy. In an interview in 2009 when he was a guest along with his late wife Diana at the Clipsal 500 V8 Supercars meeting, Gaze retold a story of one of his 485 sorties over Europe and how he became concerned over the fate of a German pilot he had shot down. Showing a deep sense of remorse Gaze said: He (the German pilot) was so brave that he sat in the cockpit until he was forced to bail out, and there were four holes in his parachute. I had climbed to 2000 feet and gave the fixes [position] so the rescue people could come and get him, because I thought he was a bloody brave man and he deserved rescuing. “The Germans then sent so many people to look for him and I thought, ‘My god, I’ve shot down an ace.’ I found out from history that they didn’t find him and I was pretty sorry because he was a tough bloke.” Those words, which still resonated with Gaze so many years later, summed up the fabric of a person who has achieved so much in his life yet somehow he flew under the radar, rarely publicly credited or recognised for his remarkable accomplishments. Perhaps what Gaze is not as well known for is the influence he had on British motor racing in the immediate years after WWII finished in 1945. Gaze came to influence the Duke of Richmond in 1948 by suggesting that Goodwood, which had been in use as an airfield during the war, would be a prime location for a motor racing circuit. The occasion arose where he summoned his good mate Richard

‘Dickie’ Stoop to join him for a blast in a couple of sports cars around Goodwood. “He (Stoop) and I both had MGs, and we looked at it and I said, ‘Let’s have a race.’ We had some Irish folk running for their lives but we decided that it was good (as far as racetracks go),” he recalled during a time he was stationed at nearby West Hamlet. “Then after the war I was in the office with the Duke of Richmond, and someone said he’d just been made president of the junior car club and that they were looking everywhere for a circuit to replace Brooklands. “So I said, ‘Don’t be silly, he owns one [Goodwood],’ and they said, ‘Well, go and tell him.’ Anyway, the Duke of Richmond had a look, drove a tractor around Goodwood, called in experts, and lo and behold a track started.” Back in Australia, racing at the Mount Panorama circuit resumed following the war interruption with Alf Najar winning the first post-war race at the circuit in 1946. The Bathurst circuit then hosted its second Australian Grand Prix in 1947 and a year later the circuit came to the attention of Gaze. He entered two cars for the Bathurst races: a supercharged Alta in the 25-lap NSW Hundred race, and an HRG Aerodynamic, capable of running close to 170 km/h down Conrod Straight. The HRG ran in the Short Handicap races of six laps. At the same meeting, Lex Davison ran a bigger capacity supercharged Alfa Romeo. Gaze would go on to marry Lex Davison’s (lost his life racing at Sandown in 1965) widow Diana (who died in August, 2012) and thus became stepgrandfather to current V8 Supercar drivers Will and Alex Davison. Prior to the war Gaze had been taken by car racing although he did not pursue it seriously until after peace was declared at the end of 1945. “I first raced before the war while I was in England, at a place near Cambridge,” Gaze told Speedcafe.com during a 2010 interview. “I joined a local club and did some hill climbs. I stayed in the RAF after the war and ended up doing some more hill climbs; there was no organised racing at the time, so we just did what we could.” Gaze’s motor racing career blos-
somed through the early 1950’s. He has the distinction of being the first Australian to drive in a World Championship Grand Prix; his first race was in the Belgium Grand Prix in 1952. Although not having a long association in grand prix racing, Gaze was then directed toward a group which was famously called ‘The Kangaroo Stable’ through the 1950’s which involved a group of Australian drivers racing abroad. The stable ran several Aston Martin DB3S machines in Europe, before the sports-car season was ravished with the calamity that occurred at Le Mans in 1955. The Kangaroo Stable also included drivers David McKay, Jack Brabham, Tom Sulman, Les Cosh and Dick Cobden. During his motor racing heyday, Gaze, like many of his contemporaries competed for the love of the sport. Although he reflected with some sadness that the great Italian driver Alberto Ascari had lost his life without a penny to his name. “It was more fun, I suspect, than motor racing is now, because there was no money in it,” Gaze said. “We were all mates, us drivers. There was no real money because all we were allowed to put on the car was the manufacturer’s name. People like Alberto Ascari (the Italian who won World F1 Championships for Ferrari in 1952 and 1953) died poor.” Ascari was at the peak of his powers when he perished during private practice at Monza on 26 May 1955. The ’50s was a perilous era in motor racing, when lives were lost and were expected to be lost. Gaze had become accustomed to death and mayhem through his service during the war. He would talk of these times with some trepidation. “‘[In the war] there were blokes getting killed all around you. You didn’t use the word “death”; you said the other fellow had ‘joined’.” Indeed Gaze has now joined the angels. A true gentleman, a true hero, remembered fondly and will never be forgotten. y name is Judi McDonald, a member of Benalla Auto Club for a number of years now, and ‘your mum’ at the track. Questions I am often asked are ‘have you go a band aid’ or ‘where is the closest loo’! At the recent Annual General Meeting in July, I offered to help with information for Pitstop, our monthly magazine for members. Before I could start doing this, I thought you may like to know a little more about me! I was a single mum for nearly 10 years, with 2 daughters and met Grant, a single dad with 2 sons, a little older than my girls. Our first date was to Sandown to see the V8’s where we sat in the Grandstand and watched the cars go around and around ‘what do people see in this’ was my comment. Grant had been involved in car racing, (we have a photo of him, in his Humpy Holden, on the old start/ finish line at Winton, March 1970) working with V8 teams, mostly for Peter Brock and Larry Perkins. In 1985 he was asked to help out at Bathurst, with Neil Schembri and asked would like to go, share the driving, and maybe help out. At the end of the weekend I was hooked, not only on Grant, but car

racing of all sorts. When we first left Melbourne, we moved to Heathcote, Victoria, but found we spent a lot of time coming to Benalla – Grant seemed to know when the V8’s needed to practice. By this time our families were having families of their own and needed to do something more. So the decision was made to sell up and move to Benalla, which we did in 2007. (the only person we knew in the area was the Real Estate Agent). At first, we would come out to watch whatever was on the track and started to talk to the staff and Grant asked if e could help out on Test and Tune days. When he first started racing there we lot of older people at Winton willing to help him and he thought he would like to do the same. So every Friday I would come out with him, and saw a pile of dishes in the kiosk and offered to wash and dry them. So my days of helping in the kiosk started, that led me into making scones and chocolate chip biscuits by the hundreds! Then came the day that I was not really needed, so I bought my camera instead. I have been taking photos for a long time, and with support from
Neil Hammond and Darren Symmonds I was encourage to use my SLR camera to take photos of the cars Adam’s cars were being taken at every different angle that I could and then I showed him! Other drivers saw some of these and started to ask me for photos too, but they needed to find me before they started to race A colour that was not used at Winton much was pink, (a colour that I would never wear as a child) so I am now the ‘Lady in Pink”. It has been said that I can talk, and I do. Winton is such an awesome place, there is lots to talk about. So, please think about your stories of Winton, if I don’t ask you first, let me know when you see me in the Pits!

ork is busy underway at Winton in readiness for the V8 supercars on August 23-25. a number of new capital projects have been underway for the last few months. The main work through July was the Toilet / Shower block in the camp ground. This is additional to the current infrastructure and is located directly in the centre of the camp ground giving campers better
access. It has disableable facilities and a separate block for Showers for Men and Woman and Toilets for Men and Woman. The Block will significantly improve the camping experience at Winton and will be replicated on the north side of the facility in the future. Work is currently going on a New Pit shed in the support paddock. The shed will house 30 cars and will be first used at the V8 Supercar
event on August 23-25. The garages are already booked out for the Performance Car Mania in September. They are in a style of 2 wide and 15 long bays with roller doors on either side of the building. The Motorkhana Pad is close to finish. A spray seal has been applied and a bitumen hot mix will be applied in approximately late January when the weather is warm enough for a large bitumen area.
