TheWSCCDanceprogramteachesstudentstodevelopprofessionalpractice skills,growintheunderstandingandappreciationofdanceasanartform,and pursuedanceasapossiblecareerchoice Essentially,theprogramoffersa conservatoryapproachtostudyingdanceinaliberalartsetting,combinedwith professional-caliberperformanceopportunities.WSCCaimstoproduce technicallystrongandartisticallyexpressivedancerswhoaresoughtafterfor theirprofessionalismandabilitytoeasilyadapttothebroadrangeofstyles demandedoftoday’sdanceprofessionals.Thisprogramdevelopsskillsneededto pursueindustrycareeroptionsorfurthereducationatafour-yearcollegeor universityprogram.Also,thedanceprogramoffersanexcellentopportunityto workwithothersonprojects,whetherasagrouporindividually,anddevelop partnershipskillsandfriendships
TheWSCCDanceprogramhasopportunitiesintheformofAssociatesDegrees andShort-TermCertificates TheGeneralStudiesAssociateDegreeofferstwo dancefocuses:DancePerformanceandDanceEducation.TwoShort-Term Certificatesarealsoavailablewithconcentrationsinchoreographyandteaching ballet StudentsmayalsoauditionfortheAllegroDanceTheatre,theWSCC dancecompany,wheretheywillhavetheopportunitytoperformand choreographforannualperformancesandfestivalswhileobservingothercollege dancestudentsandprofessionalcompaniesperform,takemasterclasses, participateinservicelearningandoutreachprograms,andstudyabroad.Please getintouchwiththeWSCCFineandPerformingArtsDepartmentforaudition registrationorfurtherquestions.

AnAmericantransplantedinFrance,whohasrecentlyreturned toCullman,Alabama,BrookeDesnoësisoneofhergeneration's mostgiftedandprolificteachingartists,withovertwentyyearsof experienceattheinternationallevel Herpre-professional trainingprogramopenedthedoorstosuccessfulprofessional careersfornumerousstudents Mrs Desnoëstrainsherstudents "fromtheinsideout"andprovidesthemwithaneducational experienceofthehighestcaliber.
BrookeDesnoësreceivedherearlydancetraininginhernativeAlabamaandwentonto dancewithballetcompaniesacrossthesoutheastandinEurope Shehasdancedavaried repertoire,includingleadingrolesinmanyclassicalballetssuchas"SleepingBeauty," "Cinderella,""Paquita,"and"RomeoandJuliet,"aswellasworksbycontemporary choreographers AfterteachingatTheWashingtonSchoolofBalletinWashingtonDC, underthedirectionofMaryDay,BrookeDesnoësfoundedL'AcadémieAméricainedeDanse deParis(AADP) Sinceitscreationin1997,AADPhasbecomeoneofEurope'slargestand mostreputableballetschools HereinCullman,shehasopenedasuccessfuldancestudio wheresheistheartisticdirectorofmanyclassesandacompanyofgifteddancerscalled BalletSouth.BalletSouthhasperformedinvariousproductions,competitions,andfestivals.
Mrs DesnoësholdsaBAinBalletPedagogyfromBrenauUniversityandisinthe finalstagesofcompletingaMAinEducation SheobtainedtheFrenchstate ballet-teachingcertificatein1993andhasbeenamemberofthe"Conseil InternationaldelaDanse"/UNESCOsince2006 Sheworksdirectlywiththe RoyalAcademyofDancetocoordinateeventsnParis,whereshewasgrantedthe titleofMentorin2009 In2014,forits25thanniversary,theAnnenberg FoundationidentifiedBrookeDesnoësasoneofthe25vision-drivenleaders chosentorepresentthe8500granteeswhosevisionstheysupportedsinceits creation

HaleyGreatorexis22yearsoldandhasalmost19yearsofdanceexperience.Shehas dancedforBeverly'sDanceAcademyandNorthJeffersonAcademyofDanceand graduatedwithWestwoodBallet.Haleyisatap,jazz,contemporary,worship,and balletteacher.SheteachesatMerilynSandersPerformingArtsCompany, WestwoodBallet,TheBarreDanceCompany,andtheEliteDanceStudio.Haley's lifegoalhasalwaysbeentohaveherowndancestudiooneday.Topursuethisgoal, sheismajoringinDanceEducationhereatWallaceStatetobetterherselfin teachinganddancingtechniquestobethebestshecanbeforherstudents.

EmmaGraceLaneis20yearsoldandisfromTuscumbia,AL.Sheisa sophomoreatWallaceStatemajoringinDanceEducation.EmmaGracehas beendancingsincetheageoffourandhasdancedcompetitivelyfornine years.Hermostproudmomentiswinningtwonationalchampionships.Emma Grace'sfavoritemomentasanAllegrodancerisperformingintheSpring Showcase!

ChloeMcCroriebegandancingwithBeverly'sDancewhenshewasonlytwoandahalf yearsold.ShehasalsotrainedwithBirminghamBallet,MSPAC,andAlabamaBallet. ChloehasattendedsummerprogramswithBrenauUniversityinGainesville,Colorado BalletinDenver,AmericanBalletTheatreinTampa,andtheSchoolofAmericanBallet inNewYork.ChloeiscurrentlyacompanymemberwithBalletSouthinCullman,AL. ChloeisajuniorinhighschoolandduallyenrolledinWallaceState'sDanceprogram. SheisaWallaceStatePrideLinememberanddanceswithWallaceStateAllegroDance Theatre.Chloeisworkingonattaininghershort-termcertificateinDancePedagogy. Aftergraduation,shehopestojoinaprofessionalballetcompany.

JordanReeceis19yearsoldandhasbeendancingfor17years.Jordanteachesat ShowstoppersDanceCompanyinSumiton,AL,thesamestudioshegrewup dancingwith.Thisspring,JordanwillgraduatewithanAssociateDegreein SciencesandplanstotransferandcontinuehereducationinBusiness Management.

MorganSmithis20yearsoldandhasdancedfor15years,12ofthose beingcompetitivelyatShowstoppersDanceCompany.Morganis trainedintap,jazz,ballet,hip-hop,modern,andpointe.Shehasbeen involvedintheAllegroDanceTheatreforthreeyears.Shewillgraduate inMaywithanAssociateDegreeandtwocertificatesinDance ChoreographyandDancePedagogy.Hertimeinthedanceprogramhas helpedhergrowtremendouslyasadancer,teacher,andperson.Morgan isforeverthankfultoBrookeDesnoesandallthewonderfulfriendsshe hasmadehereatWallaceState;shecouldnothavedoneitwithout them!
