COACHING STAFF SYLAS ELLIOTT, Men’s Head Coach (sylas.elliott@wallacestate.edu) Sylas Elliott enters his first season as Wallace State’s men’s head coach, after being elevated from the interim post, which he maintained during the 2018-19 season. Elliott led the Lions to a ninth-place finish at nationals last season. A former Lion, Elliott earned 1st-team NJCAA PING All-American honors as a sophomore at Wallace State and was a 2016 Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year semifinalist --- one of only 30 players to earn the distinction. He was a two-time ACCC/Region 22 Tournament individual low medalist and a two-time champion of the Wallace State Fall Invitational. He went on to play at South Alabama, graduating in May 2018 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. J.J. ADAMS, Women’s Head Coach (jj.adams@wallacestate.edu) J.J. Adams enters his second season as Wallace State’s women’s head coach. Adams was named the 2019 Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Lions to a third consecutive ACCC/Region 22 tournament championship and a program-best 10th-place finish at nationals. During the 2018-2019 season, Wallace State’s women won two fall tournaments and four spring titles under Adams’ guidance. Adams, who previously served as a Wallace State assistant, played for the Lions from 1988-1990 before lettering at UNA. He previously owned Pro Golf of Cullman for nearly 20 years.
