Students must present picture ID to pick up checks. A valid state driver’s license will suffice.

APPLY EARLY – Students applying for financial aid should apply at least two (2) months before the next semester begins. Applying early will help ensure a timely response to federal guidelines and will allow for any unforeseen problems/situations that might occur. Withdrawal from all classes after picking up balance checks will result in Pell overpayment and future Pell payments for WSCC or any other college will cease until the overpayment is repaid.

BOOKSTORE CHARGES If Pell Awards exceed the amount of tuition and fees owed, students may charge books and supplies on their Pell accounts at the WSCC Bookstore. These accounts will be open for charges May 10. DISTANCE EDUCATION students are responsible for logging in and meeting orientation requirements for all Blackboard, Internet, and video classes. Pell funds will not be distributed until attendance is verified. BALANCE CHECKS Per federal guidelines, attendance must be verified before balance checks can be distributed. Pell and loan funds will not be distributed until attendance is verified. If you are registered in classes that begin later than May 24 your balance check will be disbursed at a later date. You must attend classes prior to any funds being distributed for a particular class. Pell Grant balance checks will be distributed in the Coliseum on Wednesday, June 6. Balance Checks, with no holds not picked up, will be mailed, Thursday, June 7. Loan balance checks are scheduled to be distributed in the Coliseum on Tuesday, June 26.
