A Message from the President Welcome to summer semester! Wallace State offers a rich selection of courses to students and lifelong learners during its summer session. From mid-May to early August, thousands of students enroll in more than 600 courses across all disciplines. Classes are offered online, on campus during the day and in the evening, and during two 5-week Mini-terms, so that you can find time to rejuvenate while still participating in college coursework and other activities. Summer semester is important to our students who want to carry a more manageable course load during the regular academic year, those who want to get an early start, catch up, or earn their degrees at an accelerated pace. The atmosphere during summertime is a bit more relaxed, even for those loading up on courses, as the college operates extended days Monday through Thursday and is closed on Fridays. We welcome many visiting students from other colleges and universities who want to take advantage of Wallace State’s offerings during the summer. Students are invited to visit Lion Central, our new One Stop Center for enrollment, advising and financial aid services, located on the ground floor of the fully renovated Bailey Center. New online tutorials for completing the FAFSA and a Financial Aid TV service provide additional answers for students seeking information on Pell grants and student loans. Many other programs and activities happen during summer, including a 10-day summer educational trip to Italy organized through the Evelyn Burrow Museum, the Museum’s Cultural Conversation’s series and visiting art exhibitions, as well as activities offered through our Alumni Association and Continuing Education department. A nationally recognized Achieving the Dream institution, Wallace State is an exciting place to be. Join us this summer, and become inspired by the Wallace State of Mind!

Refund for partial withdrawal: Students who do not completely withdraw from the college but drop a class during the regular drop/add period will be refunded the difference in tuition paid and the tuition rate applicable to the reduced number of hours, including fees appropriate to the classes dropped. There will be no refund to a student who partially withdraws after the official drop/add period has ended. Wallace State does not give cash refunds: Students must complete a Drop/Add Form for the Admissions Office (available through Lion Central in the Bailey Center lobby), take it to the Cashier’s Office and complete a Refund Request Form.
