It’s our Pleasure to provide eBooks on Overdrive IT'S OUR PLEASURE TO WELCOME you to the Wallace State Library. In the WSCC Library, we strive to help our patrons succeed academically and professionally. IT'S OUR PLEASURE TO PROVIDE patrons access to eBooks on OVERDRIVE. Overdrive PROVIDES a variety of popular fiction and recently published fiction eBooks and audiobooks that patrons can access and check out using their Wallace State email. Students can DOWNLOAD the Libby app on their phone to access our digital library collection, and they can read or listen to books on their devices. Students can use the Libby app to download eBooks and audiobooks, which they can access them at a different time. The Libby app can send eBooks and audiobooks to the Kindle if you prefer to read on your Kindle. Overdrive is available 24/7 remotely and in the library. Students can come to the front desk on the second floor and ask about Overdrive and Libby.

Library Offers Research Skills/Library Orientation Class To provide a successful start to the new semester, WSCC library is offering a brief class on library and research skills. The session covers such topics as using the online ILS (catalog) to find books, e-books, and other materials, using the Alabama Virtual Library and other online databases to find articles, and taking advantage of the library’s holdings and facilities.

Get a taste of the culinary arts field. It refers to food prepared in a professional setting, such as a restaurant, deli, hospital, nursing home, or other business involving food or food service. Those who work in the culinary arts, including professional chefs and cooks, are expected to know food science, diet, nutrition, and ingredients. They’re expected to prepare food that tastes good but also is pleasing. They also must master various skills or techniques, such as knife work, menu and meal planning, inventory control, and kitchen management. In addition, they must understand how to sanitize their work area to avoid food contamination.
