OUGD603 - Briony Machin
Brief and Research Research was carried out in homeware stores in Leeds. for Briony Machin’s range of bowls. Soon to graduate, she wanted a range of outcomes to allow her to start selling her bowls straight away. By observing existing products it was interesting to find successful and unsuccessful examples of packaging design. The idea of having an illustration on the side is helpful, as it directs the consumer. Whilst the images of the product are also helpful. This only applies with a
range though, therefore wouldn’t be suitable for Briony. None of the colours were very striking and outstanding and all of the products merged together. This is why Briony’s packaging for her bowls has been designed to appear as striking as possible, to resemble the product inside of the box.
