Fall quarter programs and events will follow current California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) requirements for COVID-19 precautions at the time the program begins.

All spaces, equipment, materials, and furniture are for designated Arts + Rec program use only and may not be removed or altered without permission.

Be Considerate of Others Respectful behavior is expected at all times. People that are inconsiderate or discourteous to others may be asked to leave the class and / or the program.

• Adult programs: All individuals entering Arts + Rec facilities must wear a face covering/mask at all times unless fully vaccinated. Contra Costa Health Services recommends, as of July 16, that even fully vaccinated individuals wear masks indoors in public places. By not wearing a mask, individuals are self-attesting that they are fully vaccinated. • Youth programs: All indoor youth programs require a face covering/mask for participants and staff, regardless of vaccination status.

Lifeguard Certification Courses Lifeguard Training leads the way to a great summer job or a challenging career as a professional lifeguard. American Red Cross Certification courses are available throughout the year with Walnut Creek Aquatics, visit walnut-creek.org/aquatics for more information.

Now On View Reclaimed: The Art of Recology Closes October 17, 2021

Coming Soon If A Tree Falls: Art of the Boundary Oak October 30 - February 13, 2022

Be sure to visit this family-friendly, educational show featuring work by forty-six artists who have participated in the Recology artist in residence program, creating astounding upcycled art from materials found at the San Francisco recycling center.

This exhibition memorializes the City of Walnut Creek’s signature Valley Oak, which was sadly destroyed during a massive windstorm in October 2019. The show features artwork made from the wood of the 325-year-old tree, giving the old giant a second life. All work is by artists living in the local community and the broader Bay Area.

Trunk-or-Treat Friday, October 29, 4:00 – 5:30pm Civic Park Calling all ghouls, vampires and princesses, Walnut Creek Recreation is hosting the popular Trunk-or-Treat in downtown Civic Park! Bring your little ones to walk through “candy lane” where decorative trunks are filled with Halloween spirit and sweet/non-sweet treats are given out. Stop by our entertaining booths filled with activities and enjoy a balloon twister, glitter artist, face painter and bubble play station! Visit our food trucks and beverage areas for a tasty treat or drink. Make sure to bring a bag for your child’s treats! No registration required. Event is weather dependent. Full rain conditions will cancel. RecTivity Bags - Eggtober Halloween themed activity bag pick up! Includes an age appropriate arts & craft project, 20 pre-filled eggs (with nonnut candy) perfect for an egg-tober scavenger hunt in your yard or home and some other special Halloween themed goodies and activities sure to excite. Hundreds of luminaries line the cart path lending a magical flair to the evening. Enjoy music, special activities, a special appearance by Santa and a hot beverage from the Taphouse. Senior Transportation Program The City of Walnut Creek is utilizing the ride sharing app Lyft to expand its transportation services. In addition to the Senior Mini Bus program (which is currently not operating), the Lyft pilot program will provide rides, allowing members the freedom to get where they need to be within the borders of Walnut Creek. REGISTRATION POLICIES

CODE OF CONDUCT: Walnut Creek Arts + Rec strives to create an inclusive community and respectfully requests that all people in our programs and spaces (staff, students, teachers, volunteers, and guests) use spaces as intended, be considerate of others, communicate with respect, and act responsibly. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for failure to abide by the Arts + Rec Code of Conduct, available at http://bit.ly/ ArtsRecCodeOfConduct.

PRE-REGISTRATION: Pre-registration is required for participation in programs. Please do not attend a program if you have not been registered.

CONFIRMATION: Confirmations can be printed or emailed upon registration. If you do not receive your confirmation, please call (925) 295-1490. WITHDRAWALS: If you wish to withdraw, call us at least seven (7) calendar days before the start date for a refund. A $12 withdrawal fee per person, per program will be charged. No refunds or credits after this time. Refunds are processed within three weeks. No refunds for non-attendance or lack of student participation. TRANSFERS: If you wish to transfer to another course within the same session, call us at least seven (7) calendar days before the start date for a transfer to be processed. QUALITY ASSURANCE: If, after attending the first class, you are not happy with the quality of the program, call us right away. Tell us what was wrong so we can make it right. WAITING LISTS: Waiting lists are established once a program has reached maximum enrollment. If space opens or a new program is created, you will be notified.

CANCELLATION: A program may be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met. A full refund is available. If a session is canceled due to weather and no make-up class is offered, a refund will be provided. MAKE-UP CLASSES: Make-up dates for missed classes will only be granted for class cancellations resulting from inclement weather or from direction of the Arts + Recreation Department. ADA ACCOMMODATIONS: In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the City of Walnut Creek encourages those with disabilities to participate in our programs. If you have any special needs that may require specific accommodations, please call (925) 295-1490. PAYMENT & ACCOUNT CREDIT POLICIES: • Fees must be paid in full at time of registration by cash, credit card or check payable to the City of Walnut Creek, unless otherwise stated. • All payments are processed upon receipt. • Supply fees are payable to the instructor at the first class. Please do not include supply fees with your registration fees. Supply fees are non-refundable. • If payment plans are offered, customers must provide a credit card for automatic payment processing. • All credits on account are valid for a maximum of one year.
