Nadia Lamloum, Executive Director

Nadia is the Executive Director of the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA). In 2015, she was recognised as one of the most influential 50 business women that played a role in enhancing Egypt’s economy. Nadia has more than 30 years’ experience in Association Management. She was the Head of Operations at the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (Amcham Egypt); Executive Director at the Egypt International Economic Forum (Forum), which is associated with the World Economic Forum; Director of the Project Support Unity, CIDA in Egypt and finally she joined BEBA as its Executive Director in 2008.

In 2020 she became a Certified Board Director after completing the Corporate Directors Certifications Programme provided by the Egyptian Institute of Directors and accredited by the International Finance Corporations (IFC)

She is immensely knowledgeable about economic issues relevant to Egypt at the national, regional, and international levels. In addition, she has liaised with government and civil society representatives in Egypt, UK and the US to tackle issues of common interest and mutual benefit. She organised and participated in more than 5 Business Missions to the UK, one of them was a Presidential visit for HE President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and more than twenty door-knock missions to the US to enhance investment and trade opportunities between both countries and to put Egypt on the map.

In 2000, as a representative of the private sector, she participated in a roadshow to 10 African countries, along a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to promote the COMESA conference to be held in Egypt and attended by President Mubarak. In the roadshow she met with Presidents and Prime Ministers. The conference attracted more than 1000 African leaders and business people.

Nadia was educated at the Sacre Coeur school and holds a BA in Communications and a minor in Psychology from the American University in Cairo. She was awarded a professional certification from the American Society of Association Executives, in an international certificate in Homeopathy from Lotus Health Institute Blacksburg, Virginia, USA and a certificate from Trace Global Anti Bribery Compliance Challenge for Intermediaries 2020

Nadia speaks fluent Arabic, English and French. She has a passion for horseback riding and painting.

Engi holds a BA in Journalism & Mass communication, and a minor in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo (AUC) Fall 2007. She joined the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) in September 2007 as the Events Coordinator now she is the Business Development Manager. Ms. El Naggar is responsible for creating new business opportunities for BEBA and oversee new marketing initiatives. She also organises business missions to the UK to enhance the cooperation/ relations between Egypt and the UK.

Mai Refaie, Head of Events & Marketing

Ms. Refaie holds a BA in Business Administration, specialised in Marketing & International Business from Modern Science & Arts University (MSA)/ Middlesex University) Fall 2011. She holds a diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership. She joined she British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) in 2012. Ms. Refaie organises business events and responsible for achieving marketing targets.

Engy holds a BA in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations from the American University in Cairo (AUC), Fall 2017. Engy immediately started working in the family business, Hassan Shalkamy Group, as a Marketing Coordinator. She then joined the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) as an Events Assistant in March 2020 but is now an Events & Membership Specialist. Engy is responsible for assisting in event/conferences logistics and responsible for the entire production process of the annual Membership Directory; which consists of more than 800BEBA members. She is also responsible for day-to-day operations with members.

Engy has a passion for tennis and is also the Co-Manager & Supervisor at Smash Tennis Academy, Katameya Heights.
