The wineries of São Roque are responsible for attracting tourists from all over the country, making the city nationally known for the so-called ‘wine route.’ However, São Roque has much more to offer, and tourist attractions continue to grow.

A moving locomotive

More than ten years ago, the tourist locomotive of São Roque was stopped at the Central Station, which in itself is an attraction. However, the enormous tourist potential of the train, which can even transport passengers to new routes and become a vehicle for boosting tourism in the center, for example, continued to be neglected.

In 2021, however, that story changed. This year, projects to put the São Roque tourist train back on track are back on track, full steam ahead. The locomotive stopped in time, got back on its feet, and showed that it will soon be able to transport tourists to different routes in the city.

Permanent Fair Exhibition is a new option for tourists

Another attraction in town that arrived in 2021 was the resumption of Feira Permanente, which operates in a place full of nature and landscaping in São Roque downtown, known as Recanto da Cascata. Every Sunday, the activity takes place from 9 am to 4 pm, offering food, handicrafts, fruits and vegetables, a kids’ area, musical attractions, and much more.

new Parks: Pedreira and Saboó

São Roque will gain two new city parks giving new use to well-known spaces in the city.

Parque da Pedreira will transform an area of more than 200,000 square meters, which previously housed a quarry, into a large tourist complex that combines sport, adventure, gastronomy, culture, tourism, recreation, and leisure. The project will be executed sustainably with respect for the environment and bring significant benefits to the city.

Morro do Saboó is the city’s symbol that will be reorganized, with the demarcation of trails, infrastructure, and safety for everyone. This true natural park will attract thousands of tourists to the least visited area of the city.

brasital, the awakening for the 21st century

As the city’s historical and cultural heritage, beloved by São Roquenses, Brasital will gain visibility for new tourists. The former textile factory, the first in the city and whose history is linked to many families living in São Roque, will be revitalized with a daring project, mixing heritage preservation with technological modernity.

Brasital will feature gastronomy, culture, entertainment, history, and seasonal events. The action will give new meaning to a space currently used by the Department of Education and Culture and allow artists and tourists to enjoy this charming building that tells the story of the city’s development.

Cidade em transformação

Com uma série de projetos importantes em execução desde o início dos trabalhos, a atual gestão da Prefeitura de São Roque se destaca por promover mudanças visíveis na cidade, que fazem parte de um processo de modernização importante, acompanhado de crescimento, desenvolvimento e aumento da qualidade de vida para a população.

acesso à Castello duplicado

Uma notícia que colocou fim a uma espera de mais de 30 anos: a Rodovia Livio Tagliassachi, que liga São Roque à Rodovia Castello Branco, será duplicada. A notícia foi confirmada pelo Governo do Estado de São Paulo, em reunião que contou com a participação do prefeito da cidade, Guto Issa.

Segurança fortalecida

Através da valorização do trabalho dos agentes da segurança e fortalecimento das corporações, São Roque vem se tornando uma cidade cada vez mais segura. Tanto a Polícia Militar quanto a Guarda Civil Municipal são foco das atenções da atual gestão, e as medidas implantadas até o momento são positivas para a cidade.

Os policiais militares que servem São Roque voltam a receber o pró-labore, que acrescenta R$750,00 mensais ao salário de cada um. O retorno do benefício foi possível graças à renovação do convênio da Prefeitura com a Polícia Militar, trazendo reforço importante para a segurança da cidade.

Para a Guarda Civil Municipal, foram comprados novos armamentos e equipamentos, que melhoram a efetividade do atendimento à população. Além disso, os agentes tiveram acesso a cursos de defesa pessoal e salvamento, oferecidos através de parcerias da Prefeitura com a iniciativa privada.

Cidade iluminada

A iluminação em LED já se provou mais eficiente, segura e econômica para vias públicas. Em São Roque, mais de 1.000 novas luminárias do tipo foram instaladas nos distritos de Maylasky e São João Novo, que ainda não haviam sido contemplados com a renovação. Com maior capacidade de iluminação e durabilidade, as luminárias em LED são uma opção mais eficiente e que trazem mais segurança para as ruas dos bairros.
