And yes, this is how I ended up in this course. This portfolio will present the first design project of my diploma studies. Enjoy!

14 | SITE ANALYSIS

Rimbun Dahan is the home of architect Hijjas Kasturi and his wife Angela. The compound is the center for developing traditional contemporary art forms Rimbun Dahan is set on a 14 acre garden outside Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The area around Rimbun Dahan was mostly kampung surrounded by orchards and small-scale rice farming. Rimbun Dahan itself was a rambutan cempedak orchard, with other occasional cash crops like coffee and cocoa. The entrance of the front gate is a durian orchard that presents the first view of the garden. Rimbun Dahan faces the main road, which is easier to be found. It is also located in a rural area of inner parts of Sungai Buloh.
