Below is a true account of a young teenager who has suffered with asthma, eczema & allergies since he was a baby – he purchased our Skin Care products and had this to say: “I have had eczema since I was a baby and it has been really irritating and very annoying to deal with because I have itchy skin and it’s very dry. I was given a steroid cream by my Doctor but after a while my mum noticed that my skin looked like it was thinner and she didn’t think it was something that I should use for a long time. So I had to go back to the Doctor and get something else. I was given an emollient cream, which was good, but it was very thick and greasy. I didn’t want to go to school with a greasy face or arms because I didn’t want the other kids to make fun of me. It was embarrassing in P.E. lessons because everyone could really see the eczema on my arms and legs; especially at the back of my knees and elbows, and nobody else had eczema that looked so red, ‘ugly’ and greasy. I also had emollient bath oil to use, which was working well and soothed my skin but as soon as I got out of the bath and patted myself down my skin felt dry and itchy again! For my dry scalp I was using a branded baby shampoo since I was a baby but this didn’t work very well and I was very self-conscious that my head was dry and flaky and that other kids would notice it.
