What’s the big issue affecting youngsters? If there’s a debate burning in the city, we’ll thrash it out here. Your voice, your issues, your space...
I am happy that the rates have been hiked. Now a smaller crowd will turn up, and only the people who have to use the flights will make good use of it. There will be less crowd and more space to sit.
Is Airport Express beyond reach? The Airport Express Metro line that runs from Dwarka to Shivaji Stadium has increased the price of it’s monthly pass by R800. Before the hike, it was R1,200 for 60 days, but now one has to shell out R1,600 for 45 days. We ask college-goers, who mostly use this line to reach colleges in south and central Delhi, if it’s fair to increase the prices for one particular line

Finally, a travel fair to make all your dreams come true.
NikitaBedi, 20 Airport Express line is convenient and fast. But now that the pass rates have gone up significantly, I will have to take a longer route home. It’s not fair.

I don't travel much by the Metro, as it’s really crowded. I rarely travel by it and now when the expressway fare is beyond reach, I would prefer to take a bus anywhere I go.
SaurabhArya, 21 I don’t travel much in the Metro as I have my own car, so the hike won’t affect me. However, it does affect the frequent users who are huge in numbers.

AnshpreetKaur, 19 It’s very sad that the Metro rates keep increasing. It’s cumbersome as I have to adjust my budget accordingly and it’s harsh on my pocket. The rates were already high and with the new prices, its difficult to travel by the line everyday. PHOTO COURTESY RAHUL CLAY STUDIO.COM

elhi has yet again gained prominence on the global art scene. Capital based potter Rahul Kumar's pots in red clay and Milan-based Luisa Cevesa's bags and table accessories, incorporating sari fabrics sourced from villages, will feature in the indigenous- ethnic section of Sotheby's forthcoming auction titled, Inspired by India. The collection will offer contemporary designs, photographs, textiles, ceramics, jewellery and furniture from May 8 to 15, in London. The showcaseauction will also feature
designers such as Alice Cicolini and Sabyasachi Mukherjee and upcoming artists like Els Woldhek and Pia Wustenberg. Commenting on Inspired by India, curator Janice Blackburn says, “The crafts in India - weaving, embroidery, metal work and enamelling, are disappearing. The way to preserve these is to move them forward with products that combine traditional skills in a contemporary way, without sacrificing historical context.” IANS
