If you’ve never been to The Potter’s Shed in Shell Lake, you’ll need to mark this spot on your bucket list. With live music in their charming garden venue, an art gallery exploding with talented works, and even a creative zone to try your hand at art, it’s a true hidden gem in the Northwoods. Take a walk around Shell Lake and spot the unique handmade mosaics around town. A Mosaic Tour is available at WashburnCounty.org to make sure you don’t miss any of these cool public art displays. Plan a stop at the Brickyard Pottery & Gallery, housed in a historic brick schoolhouse to find an incredible display of artwork from local artists. Next up, head to downtown Spooner, home to several unique galleries and even a few murals. As you visit the galleries of Spooner, be sure to check out the original tin ceilings. Pick up the Tin Ceiling Brochure at the Washburn County Visitor Center to learn about the rich history of each building.
