Best Event - SPOONER HEART OF THE NORTH RODEO For 69 years the Spooner Heart of the North Rodeo has been a staple event for the area; bringing in professional cowboys and cowgirls from across the nation to compete for the title. This professional rodeo has fans on the edge of their seats for three nights filled with bulls, broncs & barrels. Mark your calendar for this annual event held in July each year. Best Fish Fry - TRACK’S BAR & FAMILY DINING It's Friday in Wisconsin - of course we're ready for a Friday Fish Fry! Served as family style with your choice of deep fried or broiled, you'll be sure to leave Track's with a healthy serving of fish fry. Did we mention it is all you can eat? AND - Choose your own sides from the salad bar and buffet. It's like the perfect home cooked meal!

Best Attraction - NAMEKAGON RIVER Nearly 50 miles of this wild & scenic river flows through the heart of Washburn County. Outfitters are well equipped to get you on the river with canoes, kayaks and tubes. Or, plan an overnight excursion to one of many primitive, boat-in campsites. While many enjoy the heat of summer on the river, the peak fall colors are just as perfect of a time to enjoy the river!

Best Pour - ROUND MAN BREWING CO. The first brewery to call Washburn County home, continues to create their homemade brew recipes to please the palettes of their patrons. Round Man is always switching up their seasonal favorites but keeping their original brews flowing on one of their 18 taps. Try a flight, or if beer isn't your thing, try something from their specialty cocktail menu like their famous Firebox Old Fashioned.

Best of the Outdoors - SHELL LAKE & SHELL LAKE BEACH A beautiful summer day wouldn't be complete without a trip to the beach or spending time boating. Shell Lake offers over 2500 acres of pristine waters, perfect for boating, fishing or swimming at the sandy beach. Located within a block of the downtown area, it’s a short walk for a bite to eat, some shopping or even an ice cream cone on a hot summer day. Best Bites - LAUGHING GOAT FOOD TRUCK Located next to Klopp's in downtown Shell Lake is where you will find this hidden gem. The Laughing Goat Food Truck has a delicious menu to enjoy and also offers amazing specials each day. Be sure to stop by and grab a bite while it's open - you can enjoy their tasty cooking throughout the summer, ending around the peak of the fall color.
