Measurement

Objectives; • Count in steps of 1, 2, 5 and 10, from any number forwards or backwards (1N1a, 2N1) • Read and write two-digit numbers as numerals and in words (1N2a, 2N2a) • Recognise the place value of each digit in a two-digit number (2N3) • Given a number, identify one more and one less (1N2b) Compare and order two-digit numbers (2N2b). Use <,> and = signs

Objectives; • Add and subtract one-digit and two-digit numbers to 20 (9 + 9, 18 - 9), including zero (1C1, 2C1a) •Recognise and use the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction and use this to check calculations and missing number problems (2C3) •Add and subtract menally, using concrete objects and pictorial representations (1C2a, 2C1b, 2C2)

Objectives; • Describe patterns and relationships involving shapes, make predictions and test these with examples (2P1) • Visualise common 2-D shapes and 3-D solids; identify shapes from pictures of them in different positions and orientations (1G1a, 1G1b, 2G1a, 2G1b) • Sort, make and describe 2-D and 3D shapes, referring to their properties (2G2a)

Objectives; • Compare and order lengths, mass, volume/ capacity and record the results using <, > and = (1M1, 2M1) •Choose and use appropriate standard units to estimate and measure length/ height in any direction (m/cm), Mass (kg/ g), Temperature, capacity (litres/ ml) to the nearest appropriate unit using rulers, scales, thermometers and measuring vessles (1M2, 2M2)
