ONLINE! WebTrac is our new online registration system, which provides our customers with an additional method of registering for most Washington County Recreation & Fitness Department Programs. Those with internet access can view program availability, register for most programs, and view their program history, 24 hours a day! You can “shop� for activity enrollment by selecting your programs, placing them in your shopping cart, and checking out using a Visa, Mastercard or Discover to complete your transaction on our secured site. In order to use WebTrac for the first time you must have your account activated by the Washington County Recreation & Fitness Department. Over the phone, our office will provide you with a temporary username and password for your first login. This process only takes about 3 minutes and only needs to be done once.

SPUD FEST August 27; 10:00a.m-4:00p.m. August 28; 1:00p.m.-4:00p.m. Experience Rural Heritage first-hand! During the Annual Spudfest, families will enjoy a free one of a kind event that spotlights the potato and its growing process. On Saturday, Potatoes planted in the Spring are harvested by a horse-drawn plow. Children can “get dirty” in the potato patch by picking up the crop. Children must register before 10:45. Potato pickin’ starts promptly at 11am. Special activities and features offered throughout the weekend: Museum tours, kitchen with potato food menu, children’s activities with 4-H Youth Development, garden information and activities with the Master Gardeners, outdoor artisan bread baking, Antique Tractor Show and much more. Many activities available on Sunday! All dates, times, and costs are subject to change, please call, or visit the website to confirm prior to the event. The Rural Heritage Museum is always open Saturday and Sunday 1pm-4pm and weekdays by appointment. Groups are welcome and encouraged by appointment.

The Park at Dark is an age appropriate activity suited best for pre-school and elementary school aged children. The family friendly atmosphere will host Halloween themed activities that are meant to be less scary, and more fun. Here are just some of the activities that will be available: games, exciting candy prizes, spooky stories, great hayrides, scarecrow stuffing (bring your own clothes), coloring contests, costume contests, scooter rides, moonbounces, and temporary tattoos. Concessions will be available for additional fees during the event. Tickets are limited so register early! Everyone MUST HAVE A TICKET TO ENTER! 2016 YOUTH $25 WHAT IS IT?

LEAGUE

A league that offers an opportunity to learn and improve soccer skills and techniques in a competitive environment. Participants will be lead in technique drills during 3 practices preceding the start of the league games as well as game play on Tuesday or Thursday nights.

WHAT DO I NEED?

Indoor sneakers and soccer shin guards are required. Mouthpieces are suggested. Players will be supplied with a game t-shirt to keep and be worn during League Games. Please bring a personal drink to practice and games.

Girls & Boys in grades 3-8 must register and pay individually.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

Registrations will be accepted on a first come/first served basis. Spaces are very limited per grade division. All players must be pre-registered and paid in full before September 1. Players can register by completing a registration form and submitting it to the WCRD office. Players can also register online at www.washcorecfit.com. During registration we ask that participants designate skill/experience level. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.

TEAM SELECTION Players must be registered, and paid for, before Sept. 1. During registration we ask that participants designate skill/experience level. Players will be placed on teams based on skill, experience, age, and grade level. Players will be notified of team placement before first practice. TEAM PRACTICES

Each team will practice 3 times before league games begin. No practices will be held after league games begin. Each team will be coached by a WCRD staff member. Elementary Division team practices will be scheduled on Tuesday evenings September 13th, 20th and 27th. Middle School Division team practices will be scheduled on Thursday evenings September 15th, 22nd and 29th. Practice times may vary from week to week, but will be 1 hour long and scheduled between 6:00P-9:00P.

LEAGUE GAMES

Each team will play 5 league games. Elementary Division Teams will play games every Tuesday October 4-November 1. Middle School Division Teams will play games every Thursday October 6-November 3. Game times will vary from week to week, but will be 1 hour long and scheduled 6:00P-9:00P. Spectators are free and welcome during league game play.

This 3.1 mile loop course runs on campus. Course is closed to traffic from 8:50AM until 10:00AM. Once time limit has expired runners/walkers must move to road shoulders and sidewalks and continue, unassisted, at their own risk. Course maps and race details will be emailed to participants, available online and posted at event.

Again this year Hagerstown Community College athletic teams are proud to announce their annual Food Drive. All Turkey Trot Participants are asked to bring a few canned/nonperishable goods with them on Thanksgiving Morning. The items will be donated to Local Food Banks. Representatives of the “Toys for Tots” program will also be onsite to collect new, unwrapped toys. AGES: 4yr-18yr. Participants must be the age listed by September 1 to be eligible for, and to enroll in the class. WHAT DO YOU NEED?: Appropriate dance shoes are required for all classes. Participants should wear tight clothing and pull hair away from the face. FACILITY: All classes are held at Pangborn Elementary School. Come experience our huge dance space at Pangborn Elementary School Gymnasium which has all the amenities of a professional studio such as dance surface floor covering, portable mirrors and portable ballet barres. CLASSES: Each class is held once a week for the duration of the Session. Dancers may register for one or multiple classes. Class times and fees vary, and range from 45 minutes - 90 minutes.

Fees per Session range from $55$80, depending on class length and participant residency. Fees cover each session, and usually include 12 weeks of classes. SESSIONS: Each Youth Dance season begins in August and continues through May. Each Youth Dance season is broken into two Sessions (Fall & Spring). Students focus on technique and skills during the Fall classes. In the spring, classes build on skill and technique while rehearsing the choreographed routines performed at the Spring recital. ENROLLMENT: Youth Dance Registration opens during our Dance Fest Event. Class sizes are limited and classes are filled on a first-come/ first-served basis. Registrations will continue to be accepted until the first

dance class, if spaces are available. Only students enrolled in the Fall session are given the opportunity, and permitted, to register for the Spring session. Spring Session classes will be offered at the same times/days/fees as the Fall Classes. Participation in the Spring Dance Recital is optional but, requires registration and participation in both Fall and Spring Sessions. REGISTRATION: Online registration is only available for our Youth Dance Program after Dance Fest Event. Complete the Youth Dance registration form and submit it, along with your payment during Dance Fest or to our office by the first dance class. After Dance Fest online registration will also be available. Choose the age & skill-appropriate class for your participant. Note the coordinating class registration number on your registration form.

FALL YOUTH INDOOR SOCCER LEAGUE

This is an opportunity to learn and improve soccer skills and techniques in a competitive environment. Participants will be lead in technique drills during team practices and have the opportunity for real game play. Players must be registered, and paid for, by Sept. 1. During registration we ask that participants designate skill/experience level. Players will be placed on teams based on skill, experience, age, and grade level. Players will be notified of team placement before first practice. Sneakers, soccer shin guards are required. Personal mouthpieces are suggested. Players will be provided a game t-shirt to keep and be worn during League Games. Please bring a personal drink to practice and games. GIRLS ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

The WCRD Girls Volleyball League is offered to teach and improve volleyball skills and techniques in a competitive environment. Participants will be lead in technique drills during weekly team practices as well as game play on Saturday mornings. Girls in grades 3-8 must register and pay individually. After the Team Selection/Try-Out dates each participant will be assigned to a team. Each team will be coached by a WCRD staff member. Practice and game schedules will be distributed to each participant. Each 3-5 grade team will be scheduled to practice for 1 hour on Tuesdays. Each 6-8 grade team will be scheduled to practice for 1 hour on Thursdays. League games will begin in December on Saturday mornings. Every team will play one (3-match) set each Saturday morning. Maugansville, Rockland Woods, and Pangborn Elementary School Community gymnasium centers are available for public rental. Community Recreation Facilities offer rental space for all types of parties. The Recreation Centers can accommodate your birthday party! Amenities include athletic equipment and gymnasium space. Entertain children and adults with volleyball, dodge ball, kick ball, and basketball and space! A recreation attendant will be available for assistance and to monitor your event. Please no food or drink inside the gymnasium. Party Rentals are available year-round. Gymnasium spaces are rented at 3-hour blocks of time. The Fee applies per 3-hour time block or portion of. REGISTRATION INFORMATION REGISTRATION FORM 1. Pick program/s you are interested in and note the registration number. 2. Complete the registration form on the inside of the back cover. Every form must be signed by participant or parent/guardian if under 18yr. ONLINE REGISTRATION WebTrac is our new online registration system, which provides our customers with an additional method of registering for most Washington County Recreation Department Programs. Those with internet access can view program availability, register for most programs, and view their program history, 24 hours a day! You can “shop” for activity enrollment by selecting your programs, placing them in your shopping cart, and checking out using a Visa, Mastercard or Discover to complete your transaction on our secured site. In order to use WebTrac for the first time you must have our. To obtain your temporary user name, password, and first time log in instructions contact the Washington County Recreation Department. This process only takes about 3 minutes and only needs to be done once. Phone: 240-313-2805 (Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.) PAYMENT You must pay at time of registration. We accept Checks (payable to Washington County Treasurer), Cash, Credit Cards and Money Orders. Bank returned checks are subject to a $25 processing fee. REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION No confirmation will be sent. Your cancelled check is your receipt. You will only be notified if there is a problem processing your registration or if the program is cancelled. Please make a note of your program start date. FEE STRUCTURE Resident - residing within the boundaries of Washington County, MD. Nonresident - residing outside the boundaries of Washington County, MD REFUND POLICY No refunds or transfers will be made after a program has started, except in the case of the participant’s illness, supported by written documentation from the family physician. Credits will only be issued at the discretion of the Recreation Department Director. *Note: A $15 service charge per participant/per activity will be assessed for any participant who cancels or transfers. AGE POLICY Program participants must be the advertised age for a program by the first day of the program. All age requirements are set to benefit the participants and to make the instruction consistent and safe. PERSONS REQUIRING SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS Are requested to contact the Recreation office at 240-313-2805 voice/TDD at least 10 working days prior to the activity or special event. Notification during registration (if earlier than 10 days) is preferred. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY/CLASS CANCELLATIONS When HCC is closed, all programs held at that location are canceled! All other program locations: If weather is a concern it is the participants responsibility to call the Weather Hotline for Cancellation Announcements. PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS Sometimes excellent courses with super instructors are cancelled because too many people wait until the last minute to register. Our courses have to be cost-recoverable, and we need a minimum number of students enrolled before a class can run. Don’t Wait! Register now for a class of your choice. The Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes for any reason found to be necessary by the staff. If insufficient enrollment causes an activity to be canceled, participants will receive a FULL REFUND. When a class is rescheduled by our department, no refunds will be given. Please allow 2 weeks for the processing of refunds. REGISTER EARLY! Early program registration is encouraged because participant space is limited with each program. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Pre-Registration is REQUIRED unless otherwise indicated.

The Fitness Center is on the 2nd floor of the ARCC. Please park in the parking lot to the left of the building. The Tennis Courts are located directly behind the ARCC with parking near them.
