COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND NETWORKING ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE This associate degree prepares students for entry level information technology positions in networking techical support, hardware repair, server administration, in a client/server environment. The degree incorporates the certificates which are described in this brochure and listed below. COMPUTER NETWORK OPERATING SYSTEMS CERTIFICATE A certificate program focused on preparing students for entry level positions in a Windows Client/ Server Environment as well as building foundations for careers in System Administration. Students looking to refresh their knowledge of Systems Administration related to the current version of Microsoft Server and Windows Client are welcome as well. This program is designed to teach students to install, configure, administer, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Microsoft Client/Server networks utilizing current Microsoft Server and Workstation Operating Systems in simulated real-life situations. Multiple Aspects of the Client/Server environment will be taught including but not limited to: GET HANDS-ON WITH CLASSES IN: Implementation of various types of server installations including V.M.’s Server Core and Nano. Multiple forms of Operating System Deployments will be utilized - DISM and WDS (Windows Deployment Services). Configuration of various types of advanced storage concepts including RAID, Storage Spaces, and ISCSI Deployment of various types of Fault Tolerant Servers including Network Load Balancing and Fail-Over Clustering. Implementation of various forms of both IPv4 and IPv6 networks including subnetting. Administration and management of server networking services including DHCP, DNS, various types of Remote Access VPN’s, Network Address Translation, and RADIUS Server. Configuration of various Server functionality such as File, Web, Security servers. Configuring, managing and testing Windows Certificate Server, issuing various types of certificates and investigating revocation lists. Installing and administering active directory including setting up DNS and Domain Controllers in a multi-Domain environment, incorporating different site management strategies. COMPUTER SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY CERTIFICATE A certificate program geared to prepare students for entry level positions in information technology as well as building a foundation in the fundamentals for a number of information technology certifications, (the A+, the Server +, and the Network + certifications). You’ll learn the basics of the underlying hardware in both servers and client workstations used in a business environment. Networking concepts ranging from Point to Point to Cross-Networking protocols are emphasized, even covering the emerging autonomous vehicle protocols for intelligent transportation. COMPUTER NETWORK ACADEMY CERTIFICATE This certificate gives the student the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot small to largesize routed and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. This program includes basic mitigation of security threats, introduction to wireless networking concepts, terminology, and performance-based skills. PRINCIPLES OF CYBERSECURITY CERTIFICATE This program is designed to meet the emerging demand for highly skilled cybersecurity professionals within the information technology industry and business community. This certificate program provides an in-depth examination of cybersecurity technology with an emphasis on executing a vulnerability analysis of an organization’s network and network hardening. The student will be trained to use various tools to analyze networks for vulnerabilities and secure networks through the application of various defense mechanisms including firewalls, intrusion detection and Virtual Private Networks (VPN). FOUNDATIONS OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS CERTIFICATE The Foundations of Information Systems certificate provides a conceptual framework for those students wishing to become a professional in computer information systems or computer programming.
