MEET KEN ROCZEN

MEET KEN ROCZEN At only 21 years old, Germany’s Ken Roczen is one of the most seasoned and accomplished World Motocross Champions to land on American soil to race at the pinnacle level of Supercross/Motocross racing. Ken has quickly risen to elite status in American Supercross/Motocross and currently rides for the RCH Soaring Eagle Jimmy John’s Suzuki Factory Racing Team. Ken turned pro in 2009 racing in the MX2 class in the FIM Motocross World Championship at only 15 years old. Roczen made his AMA Supercross debut in Anaheim in 2011 and won one of the eight races he entered and collected four top fives in the 250 West Coast Lites championship. Later that year, Roczen returned to Europe to win the FIM Motocross World Championship, avenging his second-place finish the year before. In 2013, his third year in the 250 class, Roczen claimed his first AMA Supercross season title in a thrilling battle that went down to the last lap of the final race of the year in Las Vegas. The 2013 Lites championship granted him the right to graduate to the 450 class, racing with the likes of Ryan Villopoto, James Stewart, and Chad Reed. For most other riders, moving up to the premier bike class would have seemed a bit premature, but like he has done since day 1, Roczen does things on his own schedule. At the opening round of the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross series in Anaheim, Roczen came out of the gates swinging and became the first rookie to ever win in the 450 class at the opening race of the season. Ken finished the season with two 450 SX wins, 8 podiums, and 3rd overall in season standings. Ken took his winning momentum with him into the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series and earned his first 450 class AMA Pro Motocross championship. Ken was honored as the 2014 Rookie and was crowned Rider of the Year by Racer X Magazine.
