"Excuse me, I need to find a new BLACKHAWK! knife. Thank you." While some may find this unneccessary inclusion of an exclamation point into a product's name annoying, those of us who know real marketing genius and comedy share the same seat at the back of the short bus, have a certain appreciation for it.
So now BLACKHAWK! is set to introduce their new ambiguous line of knives called BLACKHAWK? and they should be hitting store shelves soon.
Not sure if you want a combat fixed blade or a tactical folder? BLACKHAWK? is your answer. Not sure if you want an assisted opener, speed assist, locking assist, or automatic? BLACKHAWK? is your answer. (( Not sure if this belongs in General or Whine & Cheese? Edit is your answer. ))
BLACKHAWK? The answer to a question nobody asked. I don't think the trolling tone of this post is appropriate for "General." __________________ ©Phil Elmore 浪人 315.391.1626 YouTube Publisher, The Martialist For Those Who Fight Unfairly (REGISTER FOR MY FORUM)

It wasn't particularly funny. Your post would be more appropriate in "Whine and Cheese." It is ill-suited to General Knife Discussion. __________________ ©Phil Elmore 浪人 315.391.1626 YouTube Publisher, The Martialist For Those Who Fight Unfairly (REGISTER FOR MY FORUM)

Sorry, humor is subjective... that's the point of it. I'm glad you're here to help me out, but it is a general knife topic, and not a complaint. Pretty funny stuff... I always thought BLACKHAWK! was a stupid name too. Hopefully it will get moved to w&c though and away from the "NO FUN ALLOWED!" crew. Last edited by nevermind35; 03-07-2010 at 12:52 PM.

Well, there ya go! I knocked out the line that didn't fit in the General Knife Discussion, but the rest of the thread just keeps on going downhill. Stay on topic and keep off each other's backs. Laugh, joke, cry, decry lousy advertising ... wait, what does this have to do with KNIVES? It's about a knife company. Different creature altogether. Whine & Cheese it is. Since the OP owns a forum that is far more active than this one, I hope he'll understand. __________________

No, no one was talking about membership numbers. Try again. Activity (topics and responses posted per day/week/month/year), and percentage of active members is far different from number of people who signed up, but add nothing to a forum.

Hey, hey, now, let's not get carried away. After all, he did inform us that this "isn't his first rodeo." Why, his forum has existed for a whole two years. What's actual math among friends? If it's "far more active," and by "far more," we mean, "less," then he's actually right, if you look at it from the correct angle. his could work out as more active (going by post numbers) if BF has been going 10 years or more, if we look at activeness as the average number of posts made per year. since the copyright notice on the bottom of the page reads "Š Copyright 1998-2007 BladeForums.com. All rights reserved." I'm assuming BF first came into being in '98 and so has been going 12 years (let's say 11, as we are more or less at the start of the year, and it could have started in the end of '98) we can say that by the average post count measure, his forum is more active.
however, this whole thing relies on both forums having a consistant number of posts. I suspect BF's average post count per year has increased over time as more members join, and more people gain access to the internet. so BF probably is more active, but the statistics could be interpreted to show that his is more active, you would need more info (historical post count records) to be sure. and no, I can't believe I was sad enough to go off and look at the maths that closely either . my only defence is that I've been revising the statistics techniques I need for my geography course, and so have numbers on the brain. phaserrifle View Public Profile Find all posts by phaserrifle Add phaserrifle to Your Contacts #44 03-07-2010, 03:53 PM

Ah the Invicta watch man. I must say I do have an Invicta higher end watch. It is 6 years old and just last month quit running. Truthfully it ain't a bad watch although my wife paid way to much for it when she bought it. As for BlackHawk products all are fine products, I have used a bunch of there stuff and it has always done what they said it would do so I am good by that. Mr. Janich is a very honorable gentleman too and stands behind his knives 100%. keepem sharp Last edited by longbow; 03-08-2010 at 01:58 AM.

I dunno, perhaps because I have more than one interest in my life? I collect knives as well, so I joined.... gasp.... a knife forum. I also collect cars, so guess what... I belong to some car forums too. BTW: My forum is not a knife forum.... I'm not sure where you got that from. But honestly, even if the data was available, who can be bothered? I know I can't. and I'm guessing that the lifecycle you mention will mean that bladeforums is significantly more active than his site, as we would have had far less than the current average in the first few years. phaserrifle View Public Profile Find all posts by phaserrifle Add phaserrifle to Your Contacts

Apparently he's a shill for Invicta watches who used to be on ShopNBC. Link He seems to have an unsavory reputation on some forums (watches, cigars). Had nothing to do with me, I don't make 'em. If you can make your way through that mess, you'll see it was Eyal they were mad at (the owner of the watch brand), not me. I do my job to the best of my abilities with the info provided to me by those who manufacture them... pure and simple. While I am fortunate enough to interact with millions each day for work (several thousand on a personal basis via email and internet forums), the flipside is that you'll always have a small percentage that just don't like you. Doesn't faze me, it comes with the job, and I happily deal with it. jskelton

Put yourself in a position like mine, and you'll find that people come out of the woodwork to get a piece of you. It is magnified by each level of success in the entertainment industry (I have friends whom are actors and renowned musicians), I am on the very low end of this scale in comparison to them, yet I still must deal with this because I am in the public eye. It is part of the job, and we must simply deal with it. The good news is that for each of the few detractors I have (or at least know about), I am thankful to have thousands more who think of me in a positive manner. I am fortunate to broadcast to millions and I enjoy the times when I am able to communicate with them directly... this is why most of the negativity, lies, and half-truths that spread around don't bother me much anymore. jskelton View Public Profile

In my case, I had never heard of you before today. You posted a bullshit, trolling thread in General. I very politely told you that it looked like that. You responded by telling us all how awesome you are and generally acting like a piece of shit. I have no idea who this person is either. I can only judge by what I see here on the forum. Unfortunately this tends to suggest that he's a bit of a narcissistic clown with a wildly inflated opinion of his own worth. Very easily ignored, which is what I plan to do. I'm sure that will suit both of us. __________________ That's not right, it's not even wrong. - Wolfgang Pauli Australian Knife Collectors Club Member #07186

I was willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt until I read the cigar forum stuff, and comments on his youtube videos. People who claim to know him personally, or at least have interacted with him, are making some very serious allegations about his character. And it's a variety of people making these allegations. I make no verdict, but this definitely raises red flags in my book. emperorwang View Public Profile Send email to emperorwang Find all posts by emperorwang Add emperorwang to Your Contacts #96 03-07-2010, 06:09 PM Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: America the Beautiful Posts: 12,321

I dunno, perhaps because I have more than one interest in my life? I collect knives as well, so I joined.... gasp.... a knife forum. I also collect cars, so guess what... I belong to some car forums too. BTW: My forum is not a knife forum.... I'm not sure where you got that from. I got that impression since you referenced your forum in General KNIFE forum. My deductive powers have waned. I am happy for you and your various forum memberships. I perceive you to be quite the Renaissance man. I did not know there was a Pacer/Gremlin Car Forum, but I guess the internet has something for all. Maybe Charlie Mike can feature his Rolex on your watch forum. Congratulations Mr. Poly-forumite, you almost made me use my first jerk it smiley. However, I refrain.... __________________

Damn - Diamond Jim is causing trouble here as well. You boys pretty much have him pegged. He is a real piece of work. > http://betterskills.wordpress.com/20...n-has-comcast/ - caught him trolling on my blog > http://betterskills.wordpress.com/20...-as-president/ - he cries here and his self importance shines through in his comment.
I smell a new Skelton blog in the air. Not much time left though because I think his days as a public figure are numbered. betterskills View Public Profile Find all posts by betterskills Add betterskills to Your Contacts Page 5 of 9 < 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 >

What a fucking sausage fest. You guys need to get your damn panties out of a wad. And seriously Phil stop instigating this shit, this whole thread could have flown under the radar as a joke if you hadn't started throwing shit around. I don't give a shit what you say about this, you do come out of the woodwork to find users to start wars with. Wouldn't be the first time, unlikely it will be the last, but we don't need this shit all the damn time.

I heard he fought off two basement ninjas blinding them with his Timex Indiglo. Also that he took out a mall ninja by removing the bezel from his Rolex Submariner and using the bezel as a throwing star. __________________ BA= Beth Ann (Inga took the "e" for a souvenir) "The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living, and the get rich quick theory of life." well while we're on midgets, here's a porn video of a legitimately hot midget (no, not Bridget the Midget. This one is way hotter). I am by no means turned on by midgets or dwarves, but I would have to make an exception for this one. http://www.jizzonline.com/videos/the...et-139458.html NOTE: This should go without saying, but in case any stoopid people are reading this thread: this link is not safe for work.

Really! Since you are a public person as opposed to someone like me or most of the members here who are private individuals...... how about a bit of light. You allude to starting a forum (BDWF) , you did not. I see that you are also doing here what you started at another knife forum that has a few devils running around it. You are famous at cigar forums as Corona Gorda and a few other names. A member here, betterskills is a blogger and had a blog in which he speculated that you might be leaving shop. Over 100 comments later, almost all members of your watch forum, insulted him and many minorites at the same time, threatened him and you even used a fake ID In Cognito to defend yourself. I seem to remember a thread listed below where you it is alleged, pretended to be you former wife. I Hope You All Can Find Some Happiness disclaimer: Some thought this was someone else acting as the spouse of Jim Skelton, perhaps even him. I was not there and venture no opinion. Mrs CG Guest Posts: n/a View Traders Comments February 8, 2001, 12:01 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------The recent times here on CF have made me sick, not only with the attacks on Jim, but on EVERYONE. It is really sad how little lives you all have, to be glued to threads just to see what will be said about someone next, as well as adding to it. MANY of you who call yourselves adults, are no more then overgrown adolescents, who regress to grade school behavior to amuse yourselves, and others, with no care or worry as to how it affects the person, it is about (or anyone for that matter). The hypocrisy, and double standards here are UNBELIEVABLE as well. There are only a handful of "CFers" that will ever allow into my home again, or that I care to herf with, not that I ever really gave a damn about most of you to begin with. As of tonight, Jim and I have both emailed Drew to cancel our accounts so those of you who think he will be back are wrong. Good-bye, and enjoy what you can out of your pathetic little lives.
http://lounge.cigarfamily.com/showth...t=corona+gorda Have you informed anyone here that when I was a member of your forum and got banned for posting a letter that flat out stated a certain watch company did NOT have factories and the land of the Swiss, you, georgethewatchguy, michael davis and others used private registration information to do a background check on me. I can easliy post your emails threatening me with your distorted idea of reality. Did you mention to anyone here that an email blast of erroneous information was sent out to who knows how many people. That informtion included my daughters address and phone number. It included my son's address and phone number. And he is a high school principal so that information is kept private. How about those emails and PMs sent to members of your own forum with threats in them. Did you tell members here that the admin that you were working with and who is still at your forum is a former paid informant. Your ludicrus claim about membership is a bit lacking in facts. You and the techical brand advisor for Invicta, push your website on tv. Your membership is driven by that and little else. Mr. Skelton is a public person by his own admission. Enjoy the reading material. I apologize to the members here but when I read his posts I thought you needed the truth about him. Skelton, don;t try to use the con.. that was 10 years ago. Your actions during the dates of April 2009 - 10-23-09 are absolute proof you are no different now than you were when on the cigar forums or working for Jan at Cascade Cigars in Portland. http://watchedgeeks.forumotion.net/f...ng-gallery-f2/ Last edited by koimaster; 03-18-2010 at 12:49 PM. A boil grows and needs to be lanced before it gets too toxic. A nice poultice doesn't work. Same with Trolls just that they need a bigger lance, Sir Phil Lancelot is what the doctor ordered. This thread has been highly amusing, but was getting very septic. South Africa has a great term, Skollie. Hey there Jimmy boy. I (fortunately) havn't seen you since you skipped town (Portland, OR) with your tail between your legs. Folks, I AM one of the people who knows about Jim Skelton's past. Jim Skelton is a con man. He is also a self-centered, self-aggradizing, and self-important jackass. As one of his former employers once said, Jim wants all of the success with none of the work. Jim Skelton has been a liar for many, many years now. From when he worked in a cigar shop in Florida, to when he came west to Oregon, to when he went back east to Virginia. He has conned, lied, and outright stolen money from more people than you can shake a stick at. Fortunately I was never foolish enough to lend this asshole money. I could only witness what he did while he was here in Oregon which was to take loans from people he conned and
never paid back, steal cigars that were donated by cigar manuafacturers and then sell them online, skip out rent owed to an aprtment complex, and god knows about that car. Was it ever repo'd Jim or did you sell it and never pay them back either? And then there was Bruce Story and his wife who you bilked out of thousands of dollars on a co-signed loan. (This was before everyone was on to him). Yes folks, she co-signed a loan (or was it a lease), Jim skipped town, and left them in the lurch. Jim has not changed. He is still an evil, lying, scum that deserves anything bad that happens to him. I would not believe anything Jim Skelton says. His entire life and personna is a complete fabrication designed to make himself look important to others so he can live some shell of a life that he wishes he truly had. If anyone wants the true lowdown on this scum, they need only go so far as the forums at cigarfamily.com. You'll find plenty of threads inthe archives, and plenty of FOG's still around who can tell you about how he ripped people off. You can run, but you can't hide Jim Skelton / Corona Gorda / Fatecrush.
