DB Alpha Going Back I am really disappointed, but I am returning my orange version. While I like it, the accuracy of the 2824 is not what I expected. Over the past 4 days, it's running consistantly 24 seconds fast per day. I know some may say to keep it and have it tuned, but It's not singing that loudly to me. I guess I'll look to buy a master 2000 next. The nice thing is that my black pvd blue T100 with an Asian movement is keeping great time. Go figure.

Larry I have a watch, made by a different company, with the 2824 movement and out of the box it keeps time of within 5 or 6 seconds a day. I don't blame you for sending one back running 24 seconds fast per day.

Absolutely, Chuck. I am well aware that these movements are capable of preforming much better.

You should return it for not running more accurately. These movements can and should be much

Most if not all of the Master 2000's are being reported to be + or - 2 seconds per day.This is what Stan usually demands for performance out of his watches. I would send it to him for adjustments since he would not be satisfied with this performance. I know Stan was beating the clock a little to bring in watches for the last show,and that may be how this one slipped buy. __________________

I own two Master 2000 series and they are flawless and run within 1.5 sec per day. My best friend bought two of the Master 2000 series and they run about the same. I don't recall anyone ever complaining about their M2K running 30 seconds off. I would think that Stan's supplier for the M2K movments was the same supplier for all of his ETA2824 based models. __________________

24s is within ETA 2824-2 specs. However it's not within COSC specs. The out of box experience to see the movement be disappointingly too fast is a bummer. Others suggestion of getting it "tuned" is a good idea. I'm sure Stan will get this right for you. It's just a matter of sending it in and waiting for its return. __________________

That the watch is not singing to you is a compelling reason to return it. While 24 seconds/day is considered acceptable by many, it helps make the decision to return it easier for you. Hope you find a model you like better. __________________ Keep your crowns screwed down, my friends.

The key components which differ at the line of demarcation between Elaborated and Top are the barrel spring, shock protection system, pallet stones, balance wheel & hairspring and the regulator mechanism. In contrast, since the addition of the "-2" at the end of the movement number, there has been no difference between the standard and the chronometer grades in terms of the regulator mecanism, both being Etachron. To illustrate the differences in accuracy garnered by the successive grades, consider the following specifications:the Standard grade is adjusted in two positions with an average rate of +/-12 seconds/day, with a maximum daily variation of +/-30 seconds/day; Sounds like yours falls within ETA standards even though it's off quite a bit.

I have an Alpha Marine 500 with orange numbers and am happy to say that it is highly accurate.
