$400 for a SANIV quartz that goes for $289 other places. And only 4 VP's? Plus $12.99 for shipping and in my case tax. Come on, get a clue. __________________ Robb

You made your point... little bit strong in the presentation, but us geeks understand what you're saying...
Most folks don't check the deal sites and/or don't know of them.
Some folks need the value pays for watches over $100...
Blissful ignorance is nice. I just hope those that do spend that money on the SNBC purchase, do not suddenly become aware of the deal sites. Then, they will come here and complain about the prices...
I buy from SNBC when the prices are somewhat reasonable with other sellers. I want to support Jim and the watch shows we all love so much. When the deal varies this much, I just pass... The people that cant really afford them, and have bad credit are using the value pays and paying more for the ability to get one, and making their financial situation even worse IMHO. Addiction is hell! __________________

Well, lets see, shop brings in all these watches we get to see live, get all the specs on the watch, read their website write up, and then we go looking for the watch on a dod site...thats ok. Shop pays for 24 7, 365 days a year over the air coverage, they have all the on air host's,they have a staff of buyers and support staff, they have all the cameramen, producers, directors, phonereps, and many others to present a show, and of course many others from mantenance, tech, corporate, etc... And your bustin their balls because they dont match prices with dod sites who mantain a web site?? Think About It.

Well... For $399 at the Shop, you paying: - Jim for hosting the show - Shop studio for hosting jim - Beautiful models that Shop hires - Other misc costs for Shop to run their studio/warehouse.
Join Date: Jul 2010 Location: Elk Grove, CA Posts: 219
Compared to WoW: - FREE Internet advertising - One warehouse and a small Customer service center to operate Hence places like WoW/dealsites can really lower a price and still make a killing on the sales mainly cos of low overheads. If Shop start doing the same, Jim would be fishing down in some lake to get his bread and butter (or host his own talk-show!!). I, 100%, agree with you, OP, about the over-priced watches at the Shop but you gotta understand how they operate. The same applies when buying TV's, etc from your local WorstBuy (higher mark-ups, taxes, delivery charges) vs Amazon (discounted prices, free shipping, no tax). But fret not, I don't think Sep is a month for Shop discounts when they are gearing up for the main Oct event (Invicta anniversary). __________________ Current: Seiko Frankenmonster, Seiko 007, Orient Big Mako, Citizen EcoZilla, SANIII Auto, Invicta Grand Diver X 2, SeaGull dress, G-Shock GA100 'BumbleBee' MrAutoGuy View Public Profile Send a private message to MrAutoGuy Find all posts by MrAutoGuy Add MrAutoGuy to Your Contacts #32 Yesterday, 04:16 PM Hotspur Senior Member Super Geek

Actually some great responses! I think it is fair to compare the prices of a site like WOW and Shop, but hopefully do so with an understanding of the differences of how they operate and then decide which is better for you. __________________ You mean what time is it now?
