Maybe having an Xtreme Zone early on, then taking it down for a while upset some people, they left and never came back... But I have noticed, that since the Xtreme Zone HAS come back, it's XTREMELY slow in here... Wonder why that is?

Is it POSSIBLY because those of us here have MUCH more fun, even if that means we don't post 50 times a day, enjoying the watches we have rather than bitching about a company whose watches we will NEVER buy? I have always said it's not about the NUMBER of members here and I STILL maintain that thought. I would rather have 10 visitors a day posting the watch they are wearing, a new one they are buying, a new strap or whatever, posting something about a watch they enjoy rather than 100 members a day ranting about how much a certain watch company sucks, again, when they have NO intention of ever buy a watch from said company. And sure there will be issues discussed sometime, look at my own run of bad luck with watches lately, but these types of post don't dominate our threads here. This isn't to start a forum war, people are free to go and post anywhere they like, but I just don't get it. I wish Invicta would go down if for no other reason than to see what would be talked about if they were gone...

I see a few Invicta topics worth talking about, the rest is a complete and utter waste of time and has no real essential value except for the bullshit factor and a few laughs. but that's just my opinion.

its a good read at times and personally cant wait to see what happens, other than that its damn funny at times but whatever floats a guys boat is all that matters! I feel a handful of guys have taken invicta and shop to the woodshed and have found many lies and deceptions that the buying public should know about!

I still consider myself a watch forum newbie and from what I can tell these forums tend to evolve into what the members/mods/sponsors want them to be. I've noticed that the Owners/Mods at WL must work extra hard to inject "real" Posts: 1052 watch talk/info (good stuff BTW), into the daily vitriol there. But many of these Join date: 2010-01- posts seem to go unanswered. I suspect this is likely due to membership 06 preference towards the Shop/Invicta slam of the day. That too may change over Age: 55 time. Like Trevor I too can't wait to see where it all ends up, nor can I deny the entertainment value. Also agree with Ron's take on it. Funny as hell at times. And while my participation there has increased, I still consider this my home forum.
Despite the slow down in the XMT Xtreme section I'm glad it's here when I need it. Last edited by jaw on Sat Oct 09, 2010 12:30 am; edited 2 times in total

I think the key is to simply enjoy this hobby, along with other people who also enjoy this hobby ! It's basically about having fun in the end, and realizing that we are lucky to be able to talk with eachother about a terrific hobby here. Whether we agree or disagree on certain things is all part of it. However, noone should get upset enough to leave in my opinion. No matter what day it is, or what the topic is, I know I am grateful to be here talking with you guys. I wish everyone who left for whatever reason felt the same way, because we all REALLY enjoy this hobby, and life is way too short to be upset with friends ! ..In any case, just wanted to say this, and that I feel unbelievably fortunate to be able to talk here with friends ! ____________________________________

I don't think it has anything to do with having an Extreme Zone to rant n' rave in.....unless I've missed something, I haven't seen much bashing of the pissPosts: 326 yellow box lately.....course, I was locked up in a friggin' convention center in Join date: 2009-07Las Vegas the past few days... 10 Location: Ventura, I actually like the Zone, if for no other reason than, like anything else, talking California only about watches can get kinda boring after a while. The site's gonna ebb and flow. Don't worry, it'll find its way.

I stayed away for awhile and recently started coming back. I cant tell you why but I think this has a different feel to it these days and it isn't bad. If you want a cheap laugh you go to one of the other forums. If you want to read about tv watches and their hosts, there is another forum out there to go check out. I prefer coming here these days because my taste in watches has evolved. When I started buying watches, it was like an arms race, I have become a lot more particular. Now that I am spending my watch money more carefully, I find a lot of knowledgable people in here. JMHO Kevin

Being the watch snob that I am, I spend little to no time at forums that feature Shop/Invicta/TV watches. I just have zero interest in those types of watches. Don't want to see them...don't want to read about them.

Shouldn't that be ghey? Posts: 45 Join date: 2010-01But I digress, 16 I look at the topic this way. If you sell fake diamonds, fake sandstone, market Age: 49 your chinese watches as Swiss Made, make watches with gray market DD Location: Kansas movements and tell the world that you've worked closesly with DD, and on and on and on, WELL, you shouldn't be surprised when you are called out about continual lying. I think those of us that bitch about it feel like they have been burned not only by Invicta, but by WG. I know that I was drinking the Kool-Aid and thought that MD and JS were my pals. I thought WG's were my pals.
When the shit hit the fan, I started asking questions, then I was labeled a "Grumpy User" and was banned by my pals. It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, about the whole episode. Plus, there's a weekly debacle to entertain. Will Invicta ever be brought to the fire for their misdeeds? I don't know, but I say this to Invicta, Yippee ki-yay, motherfuckers!

you're right Alan, so dont let it bother you! Think some feel they are righting wrongs and if thats what they want out of a watch forum more power to them. Thats the great thing about this hobby, there are a ton of choices of forums to visit and they all serve a different purpose. Some of the guys at WL's have shed light on alot of outright lies and deceit and Posts: 4796 have changed the way shop shows certain watches and how they represent Join date: 2009-06- them, thats what they have to offer the watch world! I will never buy an invicta 18 watch but i do like to know about all the lies, its no different than you showing Age: 48 us watches that none of us can afford, so we will never own a watch from those Location: monterey companies! county ca. Its just best to leave the stuff at the forum when i go visiting another, i always play by the rules of forum i'm visiting! thats how i feel about it. ____________________________________

Again, I get it to a POINT... But what does being able to AFFORD it have to do with it? I'm pretty sure we all look at art we can't afford... Cars we can't afford... TV's, stereos, and you name it we can't afford... I think there is a difference in APPRECIATING something you may never be able to afford VS SAVING THE WORLD from something you never have an intention to buy or recommend that anyone buy... I mean how many times ad naseum is it funny to hear MD is a Drunk, JS is an assclown, and INVICTA lies about their watches...

I agree - This is the draw of WL. The hope for some glimpse of retribution. Each report gives all the wronged geeks a small sense of karmic satisfaction (me included). And we stay tuned or check-in for any news of the final blow - albeit a slim long shot.

Probably until Invicta has been completely exposed beyond repair (pun intended). Which of course may never happen - Slime has a way of surviving the elements. Still, one can dream. So, no big mystery to me as to why it has some appeal. Like I said - It is what it is.

No, that's not the word... Nothing against you Alain, I think you are a nice guy and have TONS of watch knowledge when you stay away from the redundancy of Invicta's "why does this surprise you anymore" exploits... As I said before, I would LOVE to see you shut Invicta down if only to see what your members would discuss if it and its representatives were no longer around... ____________________________________
