Invicta "Bremont Supermarine" Homage Invicta II Men's Quartz Date Window Polyurethane Strap Watch There was a post at the end of July from a member who took issue with Invicta making a watch that very closely resembles the Bremont Supermarine Descent Limited Edition. The thread had a lively discussion about making an homage versus a total copy and good points were made on both sides of the argument. I went to the ShopNBC website to check out the watch and I saw it was selling for $67.13, at that price I decided to pick one up because the design appealed to me - and I sure wasn’t going to pony up $5,450.00 for the Bremont Supermarine. As you can see from the pictures it looks great for the money. The heavy rubber strap has quick release pins so switching it to leather or another rubber strap will be a snap. Strap: Polyurethane Rubber Movement: Swiss Parts ISA 2320/103 Crystal: Flame Fusion Crown: Push/Pull Case Measurements: 46mm Water Resistance: 10 ATM - 100 meters - 330 feet Model Number: IN0144
For your reference, here’s a pick of the Bremont.

Do yourself a big big favor. Buy this strap for it . Amazon.com: 26mm Thick MODENA Italian Rubber... I just put it on this same watch yesterday. I even swapped the Black IP buckle of the original poly strap to make it look OEM. The difference is 100,000 X better. The strap makes it look even more "Bremont Like". The rubber is as soft as you can imagine, the comfort is on a new level and the weight is double. All in all it makes this watch feel like it went up in price by double at least. And for under $15 It also makes me say to Invicta....Scrap those hard as rocks Poly straps. I liked it before but now its getting and will continue to get way more wrist time. And for the record... I love the design and as you can see, I bought it. But I still say it was laziness on their part for the complete take off of the Bremont.
Enjoy it and give that strap a try you won't regret it. __________________

Is it a direct knock-off of a much more expensive designed watch? YOU BETCHA! And guess what who cares! At least I don't. I for one I appreciate the ability to purchase and wear a beautiful watch without backing the Brinks truck up to unload my life savings. Style shouldn't be reserved for those with the most money. IMHO Love your watch! Wear it well and often.
Thanks for the great pics. Mark __________________

I love the look of it, wish I'd have seen the deal. I hate the strap, didn't like em on the Lupah sets and wouldn't like it now, but straps are easy switches as shown. Thanks for posting this thread Brad. I never looked close at this one, because the pics on shop were pretty blah. Congratulations that you found this watch. I appreciate you showing the comparison shot. Your photography is stunning to view. Enjoy! I have one expecting to land today. I hope it wears and looks half as good on me. You highlighted the watch and it's features and enabled me to dive in and catch one. U evil man! :-)

I'm guessing the strap is going to feel somewhat like the PD / Master of the Oceans (#6059) I was scouring the net last night for a strap that had grooves in it, like the Bremont has, but the choices are slim @ 26mm. I'm sure the Modena you're getting is going to look hot. What I like about the original are the slits at the lug, and the "Invicta" ebmossed further down. What I wished is that the original strap was curved, to follow the case - like the Bremont, and that it came with an automatic movement (again, like the 6059 which has the NH25)
The embossing what I like about the PD as well, and notice how the strap is curved where it meets the case.

I am on the fence as well on this one. I really like the color scheme a lot. I wish the strap was a little longer--at least for me. There aren't too many aftermarket 26mm rubber straps to begin with.
Update: Great price with the VP's = no brainer--mine arrives either Fri/Sat. Update #2: Watch arrived and it is a great buy. I like Modena straps but the original strap is fine with me BTW. arcata1946 View Public Profile Send a private message to arcata1946 Find all posts by arcata1946 Add arcata1946 to Your Contacts #35 09-06-2010, 09:12 AM DPM Senior Member Super Geek

I agree..I like the slits and the Invicta Logo. Problem was the strap is injection molded and will never ever soften up. It feels like plastic and not soft like the S1 Poly strap. I also was thinking about using the strap from my NH25 PD automatic that you pictured. I like that strap a lot. Its soft enough and the curve on it is great. I spent a long time trying to find a strap with the lines running down it like the Bremont but in 26mm it was no dice. __________________

That absolutely does NOT look like a $67 watch, especially with your pics. Stealthy look and the rubber strap gives it a comfy fit you can wear all day. Enjoy this one in good health and all of the ones you've posted over the last few days! __________________

Very smart move Brad, that watch looks amazing. I'm not of a rubba strap man but that strap looks good, but even better is the quick change pins & like you said a nice leather strap would dress it up even more. I also think the weight is about right for a quartz watch--esp. at this price. A great buy/value--no complaints here. arcata1946 View Public Profile Send a private message to arcata1946 Find all posts by arcata1946 Add arcata1946 to Your Contacts #52 09-12-2010, 11:04 AM

Congrats, Brad. That looks great. Better on the wrist. Wear it well and thanks for all the super pics as always. mikeizzy View Public Profile Send a private message to mikeizzy Find all posts by mikeizzy Add mikeizzy to Your Contacts #53 09-12-2010, 03:55 PM Bezor Senior Member Senior Geek

If you want a green diver in the same price range, check out the Swiss Military Hanowa with green face and green bezel. That's some green! BRAD: Thanks so much for the OUTSTANDING photos for those us who remain photography challenged. I would love to try a Bremont if I win the Lottery, but great homage watches such as these will do just fine in the mean time. One heck of a value (and look) for the money. I recall some homage related discussion on the new Stuhrling Regatta Meridian as it looks much like a poor man's Ulysse Nardin Maxi Diver.... Keep those posts coming !!!!! How did you get such good pictures? Do you use a light box? __________________

That watch is cool looking. I remember the original post. As for that Modena strap... I bought that one, too. It's great. If you go to the ModenaWatch.com site and use facebook as the discount code, I believe you will get 30% off the 13 buck price. Chuck __________________
