Is This For Real? Solid Gold Lupah 7750

I was look for a 7750 Lupah on the bay and found this. I did not know they made a Solid 18K Gold 7750 Lupah. He wants 10K for this. Is it just me that thinks this guy is smok'in something or is it for real? http://cgi.ebay.com/Invicta-Lupah-18...#ht_500wt_1154 http://cgi.ebay.com/Invicta-Lupah-18...#ht_500wt_1154 __________________

YES it is...circa 2004, I believe...that model sold on Shop (when gold was at at $300) for $3,999...went on clearance for like two minutes..LOL for $2,999. That is one of the all time blunders on my part for not picking it up when I could The case alone is 135g of 18kt gold. __________________ "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy." -Billy Currington watchdude1 View Public Profile Send a private message to watchdude1 Find all posts by watchdude1 Add watchdude1 to Your Contacts #6 06-13-2010, 04:03 PM

5K would be a fair price....he would be lucky to get anywhere near 6K, despite the spike in gold. __________________ "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy." -Billy Currington watchdude1 View Public Profile Send a private message to watchdude1 Find all posts by watchdude1 Add watchdude1 to Your Contacts #9 06-13-2010, 04:56 PM

$1000/oz x 5+/- ounces... then a little for the actual work and parts, minimum 6k in my opinion. tkromer View Public Profile Send a private message to tkromer Send email to tkromer Find all posts by tkromer

$10,000 ain't that bad, considering gold is over $1,000 a troy ounce. __________________

You got about 4K in gold value and the rose tone version of that exact watch went for $799 (clearance) on Shop. Despite the collectability factor, it is gonna be tough to get much more than 6K for it. If there is a "don't give a damn" collector, and it only takes one, he may get north of 6K. Me thinks this is a "fishing" expedition. He does have the rarity in his favor. However, you can get a used Rolex 18K President with approximate same gold content for less than what he is asking... __________________ "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy." -Billy Currington watchdude1 View Public Profile Send a private message to watchdude1 Find all posts by watchdude1 Add watchdude1 to Your Contacts #15 06-13-2010, 05:09 PM Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Morgantown WV Posts: 12,758 Real Name: Tommy

If I'm paying $10K for a watch, it'd better be a Rolex Deep Sea Sea Dweller. At least with the Rolex, I can count on a solid guarantee, I can count on the fact that they'll have the parts to fix anything wrong with it and I can't count on what's inside driving the watch. At lower price points, I allow for certain things. But, I don't allow for them at $10K. That said, I've always admired that solid gold Lupah. It is a beautiful watch in my opinion. You would have to handle and inspect it but there was a Lupah 7750 made out of real gold. I've seen them a couple times but they are pretty scarce as they were limited editions to begin with so most are tucked away in collections. If its real and if its in good condition I would say its worth probably about 8k maybe a bit more. just my 2 cents __________________

Just reviewing this and FYI, he received "0" bids during his first auction and has now relisted the piece with a $5,999 starting bid and a "buy it now" of $7,999. He is getting warmer... __________________ "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy." -Billy Currington watchdude1 View Public Profile Send a private message to watchdude1 Find all posts by watchdude1 Add watchdude1 to Your Contacts #30 06-28-2010, 02:24 PM

Yep...to recap...sold originally on Shop circa 2003 when gold was around $300, give or take. Originally sold for $4K plus and then got knocked down to "clearance" for about a minute at $2,999. This is the one Invicta that I still kick myself for not purchasing. He should be able to get about $6K for it...135 gram solid 18kt gold case, and gold buckle. Frankly, if I had the dollars I would jump on it, a truly collectible piece. Definitely in the top 5 on the Invicta all time list, IMO. __________________ "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy." -Billy Currington watchdude1 View Public Profile Send a private message to watchdude1 Find all posts by watchdude1 Add watchdude1 to Your Contacts #34 06-28-2010, 06:15 PM Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: New York Posts: 942 Real Name: Keith

STILL with ZERO bids, the watch is now listed for a third time (since I began paying attention) with a start price of $4,999 or buy now for $5,999...right in the sweet zone. Now I'm a little surprised that he has not seen any action. It is certainly now reasonably priced...IMO __________________ "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy." -Billy Currington watchdude1 View Public Profile Send a private message to watchdude1 Find all posts by watchdude1 Add watchdude1 to Your Contacts #37 Today, 04:08 PM
