Mine is Fine...Problem w/ DD module or What? Advice please
So...first off, my sincere apologies to the folks that received a defective model; in no way is it acceptable to receive a non-perfect watch for 1K. I'm pleased to report that Silvertone #417, inspected by Peter, is fully functional; chrono-check, alignmentcheck, date advancement at 12am-check, chrono reset-check. I'm a happy camper. So, here's the part that scares me. If the Chrono DD module is possibly defective, should I sent my speedway in ahead of any incidents? I e-mailed Rebecca (awesome person) and she offered to send me a PP label and open a verbal log should I experience any issues. Again, my speedway is fully functional but I didn't wanna miss the boat on priority treatment. I also don't want to make matters worse. Fellow watch geeks, I know we have a five year warranty but what would you do in this situation? Please chime in. Thanks, JP

If it works don't mess with it! At least that's my motto I too have a perfectly functioning timepiece. You have 5 years! IF a problem is going to occur it will before that time frame is up. BTW - A bad module should not effect the PRIMARY hands. The module should only effects the chrono. The "main" engine is the ETA. It provides the power to the DD. Now could have DD screwed things up when placing the module on the ETA. Absolutely! But like I said, if it's working what more can you ask for? It's like bringing in you car for a NON SAFETY related recall. You bring it in, they replace the part, you drive off and find the seat position is changed, the mirrors have been moved, and it just doesn't seem to run right! __________________

Good advice A.J.! I like that Motto and so I'm gonna run with it. It's best to leave well enough alone. We can only hope that they remember us in 4 years. Thanks again. mrjeanp View Public Profile Send a private message to mrjeanp Find all posts by mrjeanp Add mrjeanp to Your Contacts #4 06-09-2010, 02:46 PM

Gotta agree with AJ. No sense worrying about something that might go wrong ya know. Just enjoy your normally functioning Speedway and like stated you have 5 years if something does happen. jimmyv View Public Profile Send a private message to jimmyv Find all posts by jimmyv Add jimmyv to Your Contacts #5 06-09-2010, 03:01 PM

Have had my share of problems with Invictas, but those have occured with new watches DOA out of the box. All the ones I currently own that I got with no problems, or used ones I have bought from WGs that had no problems are running fine. So if you have no problems it will probably continue to run fine. Count yourself lucky and keep the watch. DHL View Public Profile Send a private message to DHL Find all posts by DHL Add DHL to Your Contacts #9 Today, 04:24 AM
