No more Value pays for me.

My wife purchased make up or something a year ago and had it on a card that maxed out. She forgot to change cards on her account, she was late on the payment but after notified by the Shop, paid the value pay. Well she was gonna get me RD for our anniversary. She went to purchase it on value pay, Shop said "no you been a bad girl, but put the account in your hubbies name see what happens." She did that got value pays and bought the watch. Well after getting hooked by the RD I wanted to buy a watch using value pay. Told em who I was, they said, "no!!! you don't have value pays." I said," yes I do my wife got me a watch a month ago, thats how I'm paying right now for this watch I'm wearing, Ain't missed a payment. Whats up!!" "Well sir I' m sorry you don't have value pays why don't you create another account in your name only, and see what happens." Now this is what shop personel was telling me to do, I'm not thinking of this kinda stuff to get my VP's Back. I did that, ordered an S-1 racer on VP's waited about 4 days checked on it through internet got an E-mail sayin no VP's for you..... Well anyway I could elaborate on this all night, what I went through to get value pays and then get them taken away. I or my wife has never renigged on our finacial responsibilities to the Shop. Have always paid our bills. Much less resort to shady tactics like creating another account in my name which the Shop personnel suggested I do to get arround thier crapola! It is just upsetting when you enjoy something but can't participate due to credit dept. ball breaking. I call BS.

!!!!!!!!!.....

Consider yourself lucky. That way you can easily resist temptation when the price is too high. When you have VPs you can easily justify paying a small amount overtime. This way your budget is more easily managed. ace3han View Public Profile Send a private message to ace3han Send email to ace3han Find all posts by ace3han Add ace3han to Your Contacts #5 05-30-2010, 10:34 PM Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Tempe, suburb of Phoenix Posts: 17,567

my VPs are done in August then I am done only full go purchases for me MAYBE one on VP per year but nothing like what I just came out of!! Next month is painful then after that is manageable than after that is like $50. I really love what I have purchased and have a enough watches to only pick up 1-2 a year that REALLY sing to me! Great position to be in. __________________ The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe

Be grateful man. I once owed $3K in VPs. Down to 900 bucks now & will be free in August of this terrible VP affliction. Sturhling_Don View Public Profile Send a private message to Sturhling_Don Send email to Sturhling_Don Find all posts by Sturhling_Don

Thats too bad I feel for you! I have NEVER owned a credit card in my life and I pretty much pay cash for everything I buy, but as a single disabled parent I do find VPs handy at times. No I dont use em so much on anything of smaller cost, but on more expensive watches they come in handy. Its the same as it would be if I saw a watch and decided to save x amount of $ for 5-6mos to get it, the VPs is that $ Id save up to purchase it. That said I have never got over my head or had high VPs like some. Ive NEVER had a month that ALL my VPs together were over $350, and that was only one time for a couple mos. I could afford $700-$800 in VPs a month but would never do that. __________________ Big Denny In T-Town

I hate value pays. It tempts (not forces) me to spend more on a luxury than I can afford. Instead, I save the dollars and when I have enough I buy want I want. For me it is a much more reasonable way for me to manage my hobby. Buying things outright means you can afford the exact same number of watches, but you're not able to impulse buy. You Guys are just LIKE BUTTER ya Know...Ya just know how to make a guy feel better...I really don't care if I have the VP's the more I think about it. It's just a matter of principle, I could understand if I or my wife never paid the Shop or somthin like that, but thats not the case. Right on schedule on RD purchase, what happened with the make up deal was an accident and like I said Shop was paid in full. OH well thats the breaks! tigerwalker9 View Public Profile Send a private message to tigerwalker9 Send email to tigerwalker9

Pay cash or forget it..........way too much room for trouble if you don't. I usually charge mine and then make a cash payment via the internet to my credit card a few days later. I have found I buy a LOT less and I sleep a lot better. __________________

I don't get why everyone is so down on VP's?? I have NEVER had more than 2 watches on VP at one time, I only have 8 watches, I wear and love everyone of the watches I have, None of them are cheap impulse buy watches, and I have not had a value payment in at least 5 months. It's called self control, if you don't have enough self control to use the tools Shop has given to you then I guess you are better off just saying the VP'S are the problem. ricard75 View Public Profile Send a private message to ricard75 Find all posts by ricard75 Add ricard75 to Your Contacts #29 Yesterday, 04:57 PM Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: New York Posts: 1,571

Personally, I don't think that VPs are bad. Just don't have 5 of them going at once. It is a ploy intended to reel you in, but for some people who use them responsibly and who are on a budget, they can be a godsend. The vast majority of people run into trouble with them, though. Not because people are necessarily deadbeats, but they lose track. I will not sit in judgment over people who decide to use that option.

BTW,....you can use Paypal and VPs So you can pay cash. If you're paying cash, you know can't rack up too many VPs.
