Hi All, Need your help on a decision. Would you rather have a T-Rex diver all silvertone with the ETA G10 or a Stallion that is silvertone with a blue dial and a ETA 251.272 movement? Any feedback or reviews you guys could provide would be appreciated. Thanks much Mutant

I'm a big fan of the T-Rex, especially the diver. So that would be my pick. Notdmeca View Public Profile Send a private message to Notdmeca Find all posts by Notdmeca Add Notdmeca to Your Contacts

I don't know the watch you are talking about.but the Renato is one sick looking diver, luxury all the way, regardless of what movement is encased in it. desert rex View Public Profile Send a private message to desert rex Find all posts by desert rex Add desert rex to Your Contacts #4 Yesterday, 07:57 PM Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: Odessa TX Posts: 1,856 Real Name: Christopher

The difference in these two movements wouldn't be a deciding factor for me. It would be the design that I liked better. larrycumba View Public Profile Send a private message to larrycumba Find all posts by larrycumba Add larrycumba to Your Contacts #6 Yesterday, 09:09 PM Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: City Of Angels via The Windy City Posts: 190

The Stallions are not ever going to be made again and are classics already. Rare! Rare! Rare! __________________

The two watches in question are very different from each other, so it's not just a matter of which movement you like best. I happen to own both watches, and can tell you both are great time pieces. If you want the bigger of the two, go with the T-Rex. If you want a classic time piece, one that I feel is one of Renato's top designs, go with the Stallion. If I had to pick only one, I would go with the Stallion. The bracelet alone on the stallion is with picking up the watch, as it's one of the nicest bracelets I have seen anywhere. Either way you go, you're getting a great watch, but the Stallion stands alone for it's unique case design, and that awesome bracelet. Happy choosing, Ken.. Stallion. I always wish I had more Stallions, when I look at my four all lonely there saying "buy more Stallions....". As far as movements go, eh..the G10.711 gets replaced, rather than repaired (in the case of the 251.272) if need be, so if cost of repairs later on down the road is a consideration. It's not that much of a difference, to be completely honest. With the 251.272 you get the niceness of 1click hour hand manipulation, but both are made to ETA standards so you cant go wrong. T-Rex divers are nice, but T-Rexs are not retired. Stallions are. __________________

If you actually found a SS Stallion with Blue dial your actually wasting time. You should have snatched it up immediately! I like both the TREX
and the Stallions but Stallions are higher on my list then a G10 diver. The Stallions are also discontinued which make them a nicer watch to have. The Silver Blue combination is one that I still want to acquire in the Stallions. I just picked up this Stallion a few days ago and it was BRAND NEW with the plastic still on it.
You can always get a T-Rex but you can't always get a Stallion. But that's JMO.

Go with the Stallion. Better design, more class, no longer made. Three good reasons. Lastkey31 lastkey31 View Public Profile Send a private message to lastkey31 Find all posts by lastkey31 Add lastkey31 to Your Contacts #11 Today, 04:10 AM Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: levittown,ny Posts: 393

Stallion - no question about it. I own 19 T-Rexs and 5 Stallion (SS/Blue being one of them). It is an outstanding watch and no longer being produced in any variation. The movement is also better nd the bracelet is a showstopper. Either way you'll get an excelllent watch, but go with the Stallion. althought the trex is beefy and a cool watch , i would go stallion. imo, better sought after movement, and they are becoming harder to find as they are no longer produced. the trex will be around for a while. i absolutely love my stallion. if you want ot go really bad arse, the auto stallion. __________________

I would love the TRex diver, but there is something to be said about the Stallion since it is not longer made... 3Floydsfan

I have both, and both are great watches but like people already said...the stallion is discontinued and will become increasingly harder to find. if it's a collection factor then grab the stallion cuz you have decreasing opportunity. if for more mainstream wear then go with the trex. another great is what i'm wearing right now and that's the Cyclops...another discontinued model. __________________

T-Rex for me. Not for the movement, just prefer the style over the Stallion. Good luck! __________________

Exactly......I love the TREX, it is my favorite Renato.....But if you can get a Stallion that is no longer around....GRAB IT and RUN like crazy. I also like the ETA 251.272 movement over the G10 too. You will do yourself injustice if you pass on this one. GO FOR IT. __________________
