Thanks everyone for making the 1st National GTG so great

I will keep this brief, but I wanted to once again thank everyone for making this event so wonderful. Putting all things aside: Watches, travel, "Swiss", and any recent developments that I am just now hearing about today.... the GTG today showed what the forum is really about. If everyone decided tomorrow to throw away all of their watches and begin stamp collecting, the group would still be as terrific. What no one outside this forum "gets" is that we are a community of people, not just a forum of watch fanatics. I was inspired a lot today, and I have a great admiration for each and every person that I met. Thank you all for making the trip, setting aside the time, and coming to MN for this weekend. This is a day that will remain with me always, thank you everyone. __________________

Jim, glad you and all the Geeks had a great time today, the pictures that we have seen on here were tremendous. I wish I could have made the trip this weekend, but do to other commitments, I could not. Looks like a lot of great new stuff is going to be airing on the shop this year and I for one cant wait. I saw some of the pictures of the GGT and you guys looked like you had a great time. I tell people about the people we meet here and they just dont understand. The gentleman who works in the companies mailroom and always took good care of my Shop packages was amazed to find out that I received a watch from a give-a-way on the site. 2 days later I gave him my goldtone, champagne dial pro-diverr he admired so much when I got it. He was absolutely speechless and I told him people on this site do this on a regular basis. I told him thats where I learned to be part of this new family. Love the forum and everyone in it. Thanks to you, Bruce and Michael for making this possible. __________________ So many watches, so little time (and money). watchnut62 View Public Profile Send a private message to watchnut62 Find all posts by watchnut62 Add watchnut62 to Your Contacts

I'm glad that it all went well. I only hope that it becomes an annual event. If so next year I'm there for sure. Very nice words Jim. In addition, it was nice of those who posted pics to do to for the poor souls back home who couldn't make the pilgrimage. __________________

Thank you for the kind words Jim.Checking out this site as a lark because you mentioned it on Shop has turned into one of the best things I did. I said to myself "C'mon a site where people talk about watches?" But it is much more than that.Like a family as you said. When Deb had her meds cut off there was an outpouring of support. To people offering their prayers to others in difficult situations. And the touching note from that little girl that whose father won a watch for her. It is an amazing community and i'm proud to be part of it. Only wish I could have been there to meet some of these people in person.

Jim it was a blast meeting everyone this weekend! I drank a little too much friday night, and I saw the future today, the future of how EMPTY my wallet will be after all of those gorgeous Stuhrling Originals air on SNBC!!! all jokes aside my fiance and I had a blast! Though the ones that lived the closest ended up beinga little late (I blame my better half for that) I thank you again and im sure I will see you around. __________________ "Chuck Norris doesn't wear a watch... I started a thread yesterday asking myself what makes me stay here when things get crazy. I think that you just answered that question. Sounds like you guys and gals had a great time. I wish that I (and more of us who wanted to) could have been there. Maybe we could do something on the internet where anyone who wanted to could get together and talk about and show each other their watches and maybe even talk about other things...oh yeh. That's what we do. LOL Thanks to you all for sharing your good time with the rest of us. __________________
