STARTING A BUSINESS DURING A PANDEMIC

Exactly one year ago I was starting my own Digithy, a digital agency focused on a personal approach, with empathic understanding of customers and clients.

This was a business idea I’d grown for over two years, and I tested its main concept for over five years, with different startups. It was time to get started and see how I could get to help more businesses with a specialised team and plenty of energy.

I had no clue that one month later a pandemic would come, hitting all of us very hard both personally and economically.

This crisis mixed all things up again, pushing everyone to think about a different solution, from a different perspective. I lost the first 2 clients I was ready to start working with, and that was just the beginning.

In this situation, I also had to rethink my strategy and I changed a few things myself. I moved my focus on 3 main aspects:

• Putting together a trained team - all women at this time

• Work on branding

• Helping businesses free of charge

I thought it was worth using this stalling time to create a strong base and be ready to help businesses with digital marketing when they were ready to start again. And it worked fairly well.

And now?

We are growing, as a women-led team and as a business, now working with different clients. In particular, we’re helping businesses find the best way to reach their audience, using conventional and unconventional channels, depending on their audience. We analyse the target, goals and brand positioning, and after creating the strategy we also implement content marketing and communication strategies on websites and social media.

We’re 100% committed to the businesses we work with, so much so that if we realise there’s no work we can do to help the company, we transparently say that and suggest other options.

In a digital world where all we see is a screen, we need to be more aware of the people’s feelings and need to use more empathy in our approach. This is Digithy’s mission: focusing on understanding the real needs of people and getting to reach the right target audience more efficiently and stress-free.

What comes next?

Although last year taught us that life - and business - can’t be planned in detail, we did set some goals for this year. Some will include team expansion, strategic partnerships and clients’ acquisition.

We’ll consolidate the current relationships and look forward to helping more and more businesses grow, introducing ourselves as your digital marketing and content team.
