Welcome Waynesburg University is a small, private, comprehensive Christian institution located in southwestern Pennsylvania, approximately 50 miles south of Pittsburgh. Founded by the Presbyterian Church (USA) and a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, the University inspires students to pursue lives of purpose through faith, learning and serving. Offering undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs, Waynesburg University designs its curriculum to meet the needs of today’s students. Undergraduates can choose between more than 70 programs of study. The University’s Graduate and Professional Studies Program, located at three convenient centers around Pittsburgh as well as at its Waynesburg campus, offers accelerated evening programs geared for adult students in the fields of business, nursing, education and counseling.
Waynesburg students enjoy personalized attention from highly qualified faculty, a well-rounded liberal arts curriculum and state-of-the-art facilities. The beautiful campus includes an award-winning campus center, a performing arts center, and several new additions to campus such as Roberts Chapel, Center for Research and Economic Development, modern additions to the dining hall and library, a six-story residence hall and a new fitness center.

Senior art exhibitions take place each semester to provide veteran art students with a platform to showcase the products of a practiced creative process. Students spend four years creating and preserving pieces they are most proud of for this very occasion.

The student art exhibition will showcase the best student work of the spring semester. The exhibit will showcase a variety of mediums including ceramics, drawings, prints, sculptures and a variety of two- and three-dimensional pieces. The wacky and comical Addams Family is coming to the Goodwin Performing Arts Center stage. In this version, Wednesday is all grown up and has fallen in love with a young man who is “normal.” Now the two families must meet to see if they can get along. Hilarity and clever music ensues as the evening wears on. With a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, “The Addams Family” was a big hit with Broadway audiences in 2010. lectures Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: Dr. Tauyna Tinsley Monday, January 16 | 11 a.m. Roberts Chapel
Dr. Taunya Tinsley, director of Waynesburg University’s Graduate Programs in Counseling and associate professor of counseling at the University, will serve as the speaker at the University’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. Her address is titled “We Cannot Walk Alone.” Dr. Tinsley is a licensed professional counselor with more than 20 years of experience working at the secondary and collegiate levels. Her experiences include working with culturally diverse educators, students and athletes in a variety of athletic conferences, such as the Big Ten, Big East, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as the National Football League (NFL), National Football Foundation and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Dr. Tinsley is the owner of Transitions Counseling Service LLC and Life Skills Program where she provides individual, marriage, family and group counseling and consultation services. Additionally, she is the Clinical Director of the Mount Ararat Baptist Church Counseling Center. Outside of the workplace, she has been very involved in the community, having served as the secretary of the Ethics Concern Committee of the National Association of Academic Advisors of Athletics and secretary of the entire organization. Dr. Tinsley has also been president of the Pennsylvania College Counseling Association and president of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Augsburg College, a master’s degree in higher education administration and college student development from the University of Iowa and a doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Duquesne University. Dr. Tinsley most recently completed requirements for a certificate in missional theology from Biblical Seminary and her Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary. Free admission.

High school musicians looking to continue their musical pursuits in a collegiate setting should take notice of one of these two announced audition dates for the music program at Waynesburg University.
Seniors who are interested in pursuing a Music Ministry, Arts Administration (Music Concentration) major, or a minor in music will need to audition for admittance to the music program and apply to Waynesburg University. There are two instrumental and two vocal scholarships that are also available to all students who audition and are accepted to the University, whether you plan to pursue a major in music or not. The music program offers these noon-time concerts in much the same way as Johann Sebastian Bach planned his Collegium Musicum offerings for his students in Leipzig, Germany back in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Our performances range from woodwind, brass and percussion ensembles, to guitar, piano and violin solos. Barber shop and beauty shop quartets can also be heard. The Waynesburg University Lamplighter Concert Choir and Symphonic Band once again invite you to their annual combined concert celebration in Roberts Chapel. The Lamplighters Concert Choir will present sacred songs in a collection of genres including psalms, hymns and traditional spirituals. The arrangements will showcase the voices of the choir while hoping to charm the listeners into humming along.
The Symphonic Band will complete their tour of music from the movies. If you are a Leonard Bernstein or John Williams fan, this concert will be sure to impress and leave you singing some of the great works they arranged for the wind band to yourself. This will also be a bittersweet presentation from our seniors in the music program, as it will be their last. Each semester, the applied music studios assess their current students through a performance jury. The top students from the jury experiences are then invited to present their best works in a final recital.
The music program offers individual study in piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, bass, voice, woodwinds, brass and percussion. This semester, we invite the whole Waynesburg community to join these students as they complete their individual study in this recital offering that should prove to be a mainstay for the University’s music program. Gross National Product (GNP), a band formed in the mid 60’s in the New Jersey Shore, will celebrate its 47th Anniversary Concert with the Waynesburg campus and community this spring.
GNP has become a spring musical reunion for members of the band who started performing at Waynesburg University during the 1970 spring semester. The reunion has branched out to include other musical talents from the University and region.
Original band members include Bill Molzon ’73, director of TV operations at Waynesburg University, and coordinator of the annual GNP concert, along with Jeannie Clark Fisher, Scott Buttfield, Linc Davis, Charlie Behrend and Tom Minson. Free admission. No reservations are necessary for this event.

Waynesburg University is celebrating its 25th anniversary of being a Bonner Scholar school. The University is one of only 21 Bonner Scholar schools in the country, offering local, regional and international opportunities to touch the lives of others through service. To celebrate, Waynesburg will be hosting community service events across 25 sites in at least three counties in southwestern Pennsylvania in what is being called the ’25 for 25.’ The service projects will be open to students, faculty, staff and alumni. Alumni who live outside of the Waynesburg region will be encouraged to serve and get involved in the communities where they live. The annual Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies will honor the class of 2017. Graduates will have the opportunity to reflect on their personal and academic journeys as they experience the day’s momentous events. The Baccalaureate and Commencement speakers will offer inspirational guidance as each member of the class of 2017 begins a new chapter in his or her life. Families are encouraged to arrive early, as the commencement processional begins approximately 20 minutes prior to the ceremony. In case of inclement weather, the Commencement ceremony will be held in the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.

Miller Hall is the large red brick building to your left at the third block. Make a left onto College Street in front of Miller Hall and then a right onto Morris Street. Make a right into the parking lot.
