Huge welcome to everyone today and thank you all for your continued support.
Today we host Tividale who find themselves sucked into the relegation battle; their results in recent weeks mirror that of ourselves.
This will be a good contest and one we are relishing.
Last weekend seen us a dealt a lesson in football. I have seldom been at the other end of defeat like that but it shows us the level we must aspire to move this club forward. The performance of Racing Club Warwick was no fluke and their system and style is a culmination of 18 months work. We were tactically, technically and physically outdone and there was plenty for us to learn both as staff and players. They should kick on as they are easily the best team I have come across in this League this year.
There is plenty of activity happening off the field at present and I think it’s fair to say the club is in a huge state of transformational change both in a non playing and in a playing capacity.
Change done well is healthy. I have a vision with you all on how we move forward as one. The flame burns strong and the energy is right to move through the gears.
Our preparation does not change, what we do now will have an imprint on how we move forward. In my post match thoughts I said that there is hidden assets in every disappointment and we must now use that to kick on. We’ll face into the challenges together and we’ll make a stronger football club that I’m certain.
Let’s start this afternoon by coming together and picking up 3 points.

Tividale F.C. was originally founded as the senior branch of Tividale Hall Youth Club F.C and played in the Handsworth and District League from 1953 to 1968. Tividale F.C entered the senior league from 1956 -1960. After two years without any league football, they joined the Warwickshire & West Midlands Alliance and had four highly successful seasons until 1966, when they joined the newly formed West Midlands (Regional) League, Division One. In 1973 they won the Division One League and League Cup double, gaining promotion into the Premier Division. 1974 saw Tividale move to their current ground in Packwood Road, naming it “The Beeches”, after the British Waterways Official who granted the lease to the club.
The early years in the Premier Division were amongst the most successful in the club’s history. In the 1975/1976 season the club enjoyed a superb F.A. Cup run, reaching the 4th qualifying round, only to lose 3-2 at A.P. Leamington. In 1977 they won the Premier Division League Cup beating Alvechurch 1-0, and in the same season they won the Wednesbury Charity Cup. During the 1980′s the club’s fortunes waned, and despite another decent FA Cup run in the 1981/1982 FA Cup reaching the 3rd qualifying round, before losing to Nuneaton Borough, finishing runners-up in the Walsall Senior Cup in 1984 and finishing 6th in the Premier Division in 1985 unfortunately, a run of poor league finishes followed.
In 1991 the Manager and several players left the Club, and after four months the Club brought back Terry Jones who had managed the club in the 70′s. In 1992 he guided Tividale to 3rd place in Division One, a season which saw the much-needed floodlights erected. In 1993 Tividale finished Division One runners up and gained promotion back to the Premier Division…. unfortunately, however, this was also the year that the Midland Alliance was formed, and so in reality we were back to where we started.
Since then, there have been giant strides on and off the pitch, with the 2001/2002 season under the management of Ross Hill proving to be one of Tividale’s most successful for a long time, with us finishing as runners up in both the West Midland {Regional} League Premier Division (behind Causeway United) and also runners up in the Walsall Senior Cup. In the 2002/2003 season Tividale again reached the Walsall Senior Cup Final, this time beating Rocester 1-0 after extra time. In the 2006/2007 season we again finished second in the West Midland {Regional} League Premier Division (this time behind Shifnal Town)
Halfway through the 2007/2008 season, due to work commitments, Hill appointed Dean Whitehouse as his assistant. Ross eventually handed over the reins to Dean at the end of that season. The 2009/2010 season saw a complete overhaul with the back-room staff. Dean appointed Stuart Scriven and Mark Simms as his assistants, with Richard Upton, Richus White and Chris Walwyn as his coaches.
The 2010/2011 season was to that point our most successful season ever. Under Dean’s leadership Tividale ran away with the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division, winning it by 11 points and with that came promotion to the Midland Football Alliance. In the 2010/2011 season we also won the League Cup, beating Wolverhampton Casuals 4-1 in the final, so becoming the first team since 2005 to do the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division double. Even with entry to the Midland Football Alliance, Tividale continued to take great strides with two successive top eight finishes and further steps off the field to ensure a bright and sustainable future. The 2011/2012 season will always be remembered for our amazing run in the FA Vase when we first beat Nuneaton Griff in the Ex-Prelim, Wellington, Westfields, Spalding United, Brocton (after a replay) and Binfield before going out to Peterborough Northern Star in the 5th round (last 16)
The 2013/2014 season brought more changes to the backroom staff with Dean Whitehouse stepping down at the end of the previous season and coach Richard Upton also moving on. Stuart Scriven was joined by former Tipton Town manager Ian Long as joint managers. They brought on board Richard Colwell as first team coach. The new season not only brought a full new re-design of our club badge but even more glory on the field as the club swept all aside to storm to the very last MFA title (at the end of the 2013-14 season, the MFA combined with the Midland Combination league to become the Midland Football League Premier Division). This was achieved on the platform of a record-breaking start of 13 consecutive league wins and unbeaten until Boxing Day 2013. Eventually, Dale won the league by twelve points from Boldmere St Michael’s and crowned the best term in the club’s history by beating Sporting Khalsa in the JW Hunt Cup Final at Molineux.
With our promotion to the Evo-Stik sponsored Northern League confirmed, positive progress continued both on and off the pitch. Dale claimed an eighth-place finish in their inaugural season playing Step 4 Football, winning an off-field Ground Grading (Grade D Spec) appeal hearing at Wembley Stadium on April 21st, 2015, in the process to remain in Division One South for the 2015-16 campaign. The season ended with a 4-1 victory over Stone Old Alleynians at Molineux to retain the JW Hunt Cup trophy. Ian Long left his position as Manager in May 2015 and was replaced by Philip Male and Ross Thorpe as Joint Managers.
With the loss of the complete 2014/2015 squad going with Ian, the 2015/2016 season proved a season too long and despite a sterling effort from Phil and a young inexperienced squad. Tividale suffered relegation from the Northern Premier League.
With outside commitments taking its toll Phil decided to step down after the one season and so Tividale were looking for their third manager in 3 seasons. Relegation meant a return to Step 5 football in the newly formed Midland Football League Premier Division.
After Phil Male we had already decided that the policy of nurturing bright young talent and developing their footballing philosophy was the only way forward for us. We appointed the prolific Stourbridge Youth team manager Dave King as Tividale manager.
Dave had won the treble three times with Stourbridge Youth, and we thought that with his background of success with young players he and his staff of Assistant manager Paul Rawlins and Coaches Ian Postle, Justin Brookes and Kieran Bustin would be the ideal backroom set up to lead us in our vision for the future.
That first season 2016/2017 saw Dave’s charges, (most of the squad were in their first season out of youth team football) suffer another relegation and a return to the West Midland Regional League. Patience from the club and to allow Dave to nurture his squad was the only way forward. The 2017/2018 season was better than all our expectations and saw us finish runners up to Wolverhampton Sporting in the league. We were then denied promotion by an outlandish ruling when another spot in the MFL became available. But Dave and Kieran (who had replaced Paul as Assistant Manager) and his men went one better in the 2018/2019 season winning the league by 4 points from 2nd place Haughmond (who were also promoted as a result of our misfortune the previous season) and thus taking our place in the MFL Premier where we should have been 12 months previously.
The 2019-20 season back in the MFL Premier, saw us settle in and we were in a fairly comfortable 16th place with games in hand when as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic the league was declared formally abandoned on 26th March 2020, with all results from the season being expunged, and no promotion or relegation taking place. After a Covid -19 lockdown, the 2020-21 season did not start until the 1st September but that also ended on Boxing Day as the country entered another lock down.
The 2021-22 season saw things get back to as normal as it may ever be. With friendlies in April and May 2021. Then pre-season at the start of June and the season kicking off at the beginning of August. So, it was a long 2021-22 season. After a decent start we lost our way a little and ended 11th, which was a creditable finish in our first full season. The 2022-23 season began with a change in Chairman. The ex-Kidderminster CEO Neil Male came on board and made an immediate effect on the club. The new season brought the biggest turnover in staff and players in the Dave King management era. With ex player’s Stuart How and Karl Gardner returning as Assistant Manager and Coach, respectively. Ex-coach Richard Upton returning as First Team Coach and Dan Hines appointed as our new Sports Therapist.
