What is SHIP? A two year grant from Hennepin County public health. Requires district implement or strengthen existing policies for tobacco prevention, healthy eating, and physical activity. Tobacco-free policy Message read at all sporting events: “For the safety of our students, Wayzata School District is proud to have a 100% tobacco-free school policy. At this time, we would like to remind our home fans and visitors that the use of any/all tobacco products is strictly prohibited on school property. We appreciate your support and would like to thank you for keeping our school and entire campus tobacco-free. SHIP: Non-Food Rewards During the academic school day, schools will not use foods or beverages as rewards for academic performance or good behavior. Teachers are also encouraged to use physical activity as a reward for academic performance or good behavior, as appropriate. A Model of Excellence Among Learning Communities
