JEFF ARNESON HEAD COACH | 3RD SEASON
Jeff Arneson was named Thiel’s second head men’s lacrosse coach on July 28, 2011 after serving as an assistant coach for one season. He is in his third season as the Tomcats head coach, and fourth season overall. Under Arneson, the 2013 Tomcats had the best season in the programs’ three-year history, as the team set program records for wins in a season (7), longest win streak (4) and most goals in a game (22). He joined the Tomcat coaching staff in 2010 as the team’s first-ever assistant under former head coach Shem Johnston-Bloom. He served as the offensive coordinator and goalies coach, helping lead the team to its first win in the opening game of the
season. Prior to his arrival at Thiel, Arneson was a four-year member of the Wheeling Jesuit lacrosse team. As a senior, he was third on his team in goals with 18 and added 10 assists. Following his senior year he played on a USA travel team that competed in Europe, finishing with a perfect 7-0 record. He was a standout lacrosse player at Wilmington High School, earning all-state honors. He was a two-year captain and was named his team’s MVP after tallying 23 points during his senior season. A 2010 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit, Arneson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

PRESIDENTS’ ATHLETIC CONFERENCE Founded in 1955, the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) continues its mission of promoting intercollegiate athletics and the pursuit of academic excellence. Comprised of 10 select private colleges – Bethany College, Chatham University, Geneva College, Grove City College, Saint Vincent College, Thiel College, Thomas More College, Washington and Jefferson College, Waynesburg University and Westminster College – the PAC remains a unique organization in this day of high pressure intercollegiate athletics. With academics at the center of each member’s philosophy, the PAC is built on the principle that an athletic program is a part of college life, but not an entity in itself. The PAC expanded to seven members in 2005 with the addition of Thomas More, formerly a NCAA Division III independent. Saint Vincent College, a NAIA member, joined the conference as it began provisional membership status in NCAA Division III in 2006-07. Another NAIA member, Geneva College, became the conference’s ninth member and began league play as it started NCAA Division III provisional membership in 2007-08. Chatham College (now University) became the league’s 10th member, also in 2007-08. In 2012, the PAC voted to add Carnegie Mellon University and Case Western Reserve University as affiliate members in the sport of football beginning in 2014. The PAC annually crowns champions and awards All-conference status in all 19 league sports. Head coaches select all-PAC squads for all team sports, while in individual sports such as cross country and tennis, all-PAC accolades are based upon performances at the conference championships. The PAC annually awards its men’s and women’s All-Sports Trophies to the schools which perform best across the board in PAC competition. The Washington & Jefferson men and Grove City women captured the 2012-13 trophies. True to its mission, the PAC has produced numerous Academic All-Americans and NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship winners. Last year, the league named 853 student-athletes to the PAC Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes all participating athletes who attain a term grade-point average of 3.60 or above.
Washington & Jefferson Men, Grove City Women Capture 2012-13 PAC All-Sports Trophies GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College men and Grove City College women each captured the 2012-13 PAC All-Sports Trophies. The all-sports trophies are awarded annually to the schools which perform the best across the board in league competition. First-place finishes are worth nine points (eight for men), second place is worth eight points (seven for men) ... last place is worth one point. 2012-13 MEN’S ALL SPORTS TROPHY FINAL STANDINGS 1. Thiel College
Athletics Facilities Thiel’s 24 NCAA Division III athletics programs — and the campus and Greenville communities in general — are served by a collection of on-campus facilities that include some of the finest small-college stadia in the region.
Opened in 2001, Alumni Stadium (above) serves as the on-campus home of Thiel football as well as the men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse programs. The stadium’s FieldTurf playing surface is also used for intramural events.
The Rissell-Schreyer Dome was installed in 2010. The dome covers Thiel’s multi-purpose athletic field from November through March and is open to the entire campus community.
The baseball field at Tomcat Park was finished in time for the 2008 season and is home to Thiel’s nationally renowned baseball program. The field can comfortably accommodate several hundred fans and also features a spacious, elevated press box.
The Paul Bush ‘66 Fitness Center is located in the upper level of the historic Rissell Gymnasium on what was once the College’s main basketball court. The facility is open to the entire campus community.
Beeghly Gymnasium is located in the RissellBeeghly Gymnasia and serves as the home of Thiel’s volleyball and basketball programs.
