Geschichte Vor über 200 Jahren hat das Uhrmacherhandwerk in den Hügelzügen des Jura zwischen Genf und Basel Fuß gefasst. Um die langen Wintermonate auszufüllen und das schmale Einkommen aufzubessern, haben viele Bauern diesen Beruf erlernt. Für einige Bewohner wurde diese anspruchsvolle Arbeit zum Hobby und zur Leidenschaft. Die Familie Hasler bestand aus vier Brüdern. Der Jüngste, Abel Frédéric Hasler, geboren ihm Jahr 1861, fabrizierte selbständig seit 1881 kleine Serien von Silberuhrenschalen in höchster handwerklicher Präzision. Sechs seiner Söhne begeisterte er ebenfalls für das Uhrmacherhandwerk. Für einen von Ihnen, Paul Hasler (1883-1977), war der Beruf auch Leidenschaft. Als kleines Kind zeigte er schon Interesse an den komplizierten Uhren auf dem Werktisch des Vaters. Er gründete die Einzelfirma Paul Hasler „Terminages d’Horlogerie“, die für namhafte Marken die Montage übernahm. 1946 erwarb sein Bruder David Hasler (1897-1951), der bereits seit Jahren als technischer Leiter für seinen Bruder Paul arbeitete, Anteile an der Firma. „Hasler Frères“ wurde gegründet. Das Unternehmen florierte und deshalb stieg 1961 nach einigen Lehrjahren die dritte Generation als Teilhaber in das Geschäft ein, Wilfred und Eric Hasler. In den 70er Jahren bekam die Schweiz starke Konkurrenz aus Fernost, die technische Revolution der Quartzuhr verdrängte die traditionelle mechanische Uhr fast vollends vom Markt. Diesen Marktbedürfnissen folgend wurden bei Hasler & Co S.A., Firmierung seit 1974, ebenfalls Quartzuhren mit in die Produktion aufgenommen. Die nachhaltige Entwicklung der Marke DAVOSA begann 1993 zeitgleich mit der Kooperation von Hasler & Co S.A. mit dem bereits seit den 60er Jahren in Deutschland tätigen Uhrendistributor Bohle GmbH. Die mechanische Uhr erlebte dort bereits eine Renaissance, so dass die kleine, aber feine Kollektion mechanischer Zeitmesser, unter dem Markennamen DAVOSA ein fulminanter Erfolg wurde. Weitere Kollektionen knüpften an diesen Erfolg an. Im Jahr 2000 übernahm Corinna Bohle die Verantwortung für die strategische Entwicklung der Marke. Ein Produkt dieser Neuorientierung und ein besonderer Meilenstein in der Markenhistorie war 2002 die erste limitierte Serie DAVOSA Panamericana, die sich in Gänze heute in hochwertigen Sammlerportefeuilles befindet. Inzwischen ist die Marke DAVOSA, geführt von einem unabhängigen Familienunternehmen, weltweit vertreten und aus der mechanischen Uhrenlandschaft nicht mehr wegzudenken.

The art of watchmaking first gained a foothold in the mountainous Jura region of Switzerland more than 200 years ago. In those days farmers often learned this craft as a means of filling the long winter months and boosting their meagre income. For some of them, this challenging and highly sophisticated craft became a true passion. The Hasler family was a family of four brothers. The youngest, Abel Frédéric Hasler (born 1861), began manufacturing small series of silver pocket watch cases with the greatest precision craftsmanship from 1881. Six of his sons went on to inherit his watchmaking talent. For one of his sons, Paul Hasler (1883-1977), watchmaking became both a passion and a vocation. Even as a small child, he was fascinated with the complicated watches he discovered on his father’s work table. He founded his own business, Paul Hasler Terminages d’Horlogerie, which specialised in watch assembly for a range of prestigious watch brands. David Hasler (1897-1951), who had already worked for his brother Paul as technical director for many years, joined the company in 1946. This partnership marked the beginning of Hasler Frères. n 1961, a third generation of Haslers, Wilfred and Eric Hasler, joined the business as joint partners after completing their watchmaker training. During the 1970s, Switzerland started to come under pressure from watchmakers from the Far East. The technical revolution brought about by the introduction of the quartz watch almost succeeded in ousting the traditional mechanical watch from the market. In response to this new market demand, Hasler & Co S.A., a legal entity from 1974, also began incorporating quartz watches into its product range. 1993 marked the beginning of sustainable development of the DAVOSA brand. 1993 was also the year in which Hasler & Co S.A. began cooperating with watch distributor, Bohle GmbH, who had been active on the German market since the 1960s. The mechanical watch was already experiencing something of a renaissance in Germany, where a high-quality, limited collection of mechanical timepieces under the brand name DAVOSA became a resounding success. The success of this first collection prompted further successful series and the cooperation between Hasler & Co. SA and Bohle GmbH became ever closer over the years. In 2000 Corinna Bohle took over responsibility for strategic brand development. One result of this repositioning and a particular milestone in the brand history was the production of the first limited series in 2002 named DAVOSA Panamericana. This entire series can now be found in the portfolios of private watch collectors. Today the DAVOSA brand, carried by an independent, family-run company, has a global presence and is an integral part of the mechanical watch world.

„Ein Autorennfahrer ist ein Pilot, der zu niedrig fliegt.“, so ein Zitate von Jean-Paul Belmondo. Und ähnlich wie er, sieht auch DAVOSA die enge Verbindung zwischen Luftfahrt und Rennsport. So kam es auch zu der Idee, den beliebten Pilot Chronograph unter das Motto einer legendären Rallye zu stellen: der Targa Florio. Ein waghalsiges Rennen auf Siziliens Straßen, das erstmals 1906 stattfand und in den 20er Jahren berühmter war als die Mille Miglia oder das 24-Stunden-Rennen von LeMans. Diese Historie war Grund genug, Mut und Mühen der damaligen Motorsport-Pioniere in Form eines Sondermodells zu würdigen. Die charakteristischen Merkmale der Pilot Rallye: ein sportlich gelochtes Rindlederband mit roter Steppnaht und Schmetterlingsfaltschließe und signalrote Markierungen auf den Zeigern der Stoppuhr, die einer schnellere Orientierung und bessere Ablesbarkeit ermöglichen. Mit dem Sondermodell Pilot Rallye kommt ein originalgetreues Modell des Alfa Tipo 33/3 Sport in einer edlen Holzkassette.

Die Geburtsstunde dieser Uhr war im Jahr 2003, zum 100-jährigen Flugjubiläum der Gebrüder Wright. Zahlreiche Anlehnungen an klassische Fliegeruhren und Bordinstrumente kennzeichnen den Bestseller. Bei dem neuen Business Pilot Chronographen handelt es sich um eine elegant reduzierte Version. Besonders auffällige Veränderung: Stabindizes haben die arabischen Zahlen der „Ur-Pilot“ ersetzt, und die drei Totalisatoren befinden sich nun auf dem Zifferblatt auf der 3, 6 und 9. There’s a new pilot on board: The Business Pilot is the latest addition to DAVOSA’s popular range of Pilot models. This watch dates back to 2003 when it was designed to mark the 100-year anniversary of the Wright brothers’ flight. This bestselling model makes numerous allusions to classic aviator watches and dashboard instruments. The new Business Pilot Chronograph is an elegantly minimalist version of the Pilot. A particularly striking innovation is given by hour markers replacing the Arabic figures of the original Pilot. Three sub-dials are now located on the main dial at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, while the date is located between 4 and 5 o’clock. Die Simplex Day-Date ist alles andere als eine simple Uhr - sie konzentriert sich lediglich auf das Wesentliche. Der Grund: Ihr Konzept beruht auf den sogenannten Beobachtungsuhren aus dem militärischen Bereich. Mithilfe dieser Uhren konnte man mit einem Sextanten und mathematischen Formeln die aktuelle Position bestimmen. Das Augenmerk lag also auf Funktionalität, Zuverlässigkeit und guter Ablesbarkeit. All das findet man in der Simplex Day Date wieder - ohne Schnörkel. Am auffälligsten: Das instrumentell anmutende Zifferblatt und eine Wochentagsanzeige auf 12 Uhr. Das Datum befindet sich auf 3 Uhr. So hat man alles gut im Blick. Das 44 mm große Gehäuse ist schlicht gehalten und die Krone ebenfalls groß genug, um mit Handschuhen bedient werden zu können. The Simplex Day Date is anything but a simple watch – it simply concentrates on the essentials. The design was based on socalled observation watches that are used in the military. These watches are used to determine your current position with the help of a sextant and the necessary mathematical formulae. As a result, their design has always focused on functionality, reliability and optimum readability. All these characteristics have been integrated into the Simplex Day Date – without any unnecessary embellishments. Its most conspicuous features are an instrumental dial and a weekday display at 12 o’clock. The date is located at 3 o’clock, giving you all the information you need at a glance. The DAVOSA Titanium unites these functional properties with a striking design. The octagonal bezel and glass back of the 46 mm diameter watch are screwed down, giving visual expression to the robustness of this watch. To enable the Titanium to be used in all conditions, DAVOSA also offers a rubber strap in addition to a black and brown leather strap â&#x20AC;&#x201C; making it perfect for water sports. Eine Uhr, die ihren Träger in die Zeit des Art Déco zurückführt. Der Begriff Art Déco steht für eine Designepoche in den 1920er bis 1940er Jahren. Knapp zusammengefasst ging es darum, Dinge des Alltags schmuckvoll zu verzieren und dennoch ein hohes Maß an Eleganz zu wahren. Und genau dieses Konzept trifft auf die X-Agon zu. In Form und Gestaltung außergewöhnlich, aber weit entfernt von aufdringlich. Schmückende Verzierungen sind erst auf den zweiten Blick an den Flanken und der Rückseite des fünfteiligen Gehäuses zu finden. A watch that transports its owner back to the era of Art Deco. The term Art Deco is used to describe a design style that flourished from the 1920s to the 1940s. It essentially aimed to embellish everyday items with an eclectic design, while retaining a high degree of elegance. This idea has been continued in the X-Agon: Exceptional in form and design, yet far removed from being flashy. Only at second glance do decorative embellishments on the flanks and rear side of its five-part case become visible. A round glass window breaks the pattern of hexagons on the stainless steel case back, and reveals a partial insight into the automatic movement. Why the name X-Agon? It is a variation on the Greek word hexagon.
