Kia oraWe are writing to you because you or a family member are taking vigabatrin (Sabril) tablets
You may be aware that there has been a pharmacy level recall of vigabatrin tablets. Sanofi are recalling a single batch of vigabatrin 500 mg tablets, in consultation with Medsafe.
We know that this might raise concerns. The advice from Medsafe and clinicians is to continue taking Sabril, even if you have been dispensed the affected batch Do not stop taking Sabril without consulting a healthcare professional first
Sanofi, the supplier, is working with Pharmac to ensure treatment is available for you or your family member. Sanofi has sourced sachets of Sabril that you can mix with a liquid and drink. As such, you may need a new prescription to access Sabril in sachet form. These contain the same active ingredient in the same amount.
You will not be charged for this new prescription, Sanofi are covering the cost of this.
