Dear Practice Managers, The DHB-led Covid-19 Vaccination Planning Team has asked that our Practices identify and invite eligible cohort on a progressive basis, to book in for their Covid-19 Vaccinations. Vaccination appointments are currently available from next week within the existing fixed site at 87 First Avenue, Tauranga and across both Tauranga and Whakatane sites in subsequent weeks. The first cohort is specifically our 60+ Maori and Pacifica Kaumatua and their Whanau, to book in now. The following message has been developed through the Planning Team for you to use when contacting this eligible patient cohort via Text/SMS or other electronic means of communication: Kia ora, if you are a Kaumātua of Māori or Pacific descent, you and your whānau can book your COVID-19 immunisations on 0800 829 000. Ask your Hauora/GP or see https://bit.ly/3auzn1s for more information. We are waiting to receive a “campaign” from Vensa (hopefully today) to supply to those Practices currently utilising the TXT2REMIND software however we do not want to delay getting invites out to your eligible population cohort, ASAP. Would you please look to progress this as a matter of priority. We are also now wanting to start the next phase focused on our non-Maori/Pacifica 65+ cohort but not their family/whanau. Once the above 60+ Maori/Pacifica cohort have been contacted, please start working through this next cohort. The following messaging should be used: If you are 65yrs or older you can now have your COVID19 vaccine in Tauranga, call 0800 829 000 to book. Please allow 2 weeks between Flu and COVID vaccinations Please do liaise with your GPL Team member if we can assist in any way.
