AIR cutover – Information for General Practice A reminder that from 02 December 2023, the Aotearoa Immunisation Register (AIR) will replace the National Immunisation Register (NIR) and the COVID-19 Immunisation Register (CIR). We encourage you to view our website here to view further details.

What do GPs need to know about the transition to AIR? •

If you currently use a Patient Management System (PMS) connected to the NIR to record vaccinations, please continue to use your PMS to record all vaccinations. At cutover we will lift those connections over to AIR.

Covid-19 vaccines will be made available to record in PMS systems.

If you don’t use a NIR connected PMS, you will need to move from using the NIR/CIR to using the AIR vaccinator portal to record all vaccinations.

We encourage you to view our website here to view further details.
