Dear Clinician/ Laboratory Service User
RE: Laboratory Workers Proposed Strike 6.00am 2nd April to 5.59am 3rd April (24-hours)
We write to inform you of a proposed strike by Pathlab Bay of Plenty laboratory workers, scheduled for Tuesday, 2nd April, commencing at 6:00am and concluding Wednesday 3rd April at 5:59am (24-hours)
Due to this industrial action, laboratory services will be significantly disrupted. Consequently, there will be an impact on test collection and processing, results reporting, and other laboratoryrelated services.
We commit to providing an acute service to all our patients over this time and would be grateful for your support by using clinical judgment and consideration of alternative diagnostic approaches where applicable, keeping patient safety and well-being at the forefront.
Please note that during the strike period, the only open collection facility will be Pathlab Cameron Rd, Tauranga branch 7.30am to 4.30pm. Patients are advised to utilise this facility for urgent specimen collection only. There will be no rest-home or home visits within this 24-hour strike period.
Notices for all our closed collection facilities will be displayed from tomorrow.
We apologise for any inconvenience this strike may cause and assure you that we are actively working to minimise its impact on patient care. We will resume normal laboratory operations promptly following the conclusion of the industrial action.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time.
