ACC and General Practice Connect Concept Design Workshops

We would like to know if you (or a representative clinician) are interested in attending a concept design workshop with us. We want to ensure we have fair representation from all stakeholders. There are 30 spaces at each workshop so we will be allocating 20 spaces to clinical representatives (including 3 from allied health) and 10 spaces to non-clinical representatives, such as Practice Managers and CEOs. The workshops will be held on the following dates: •

10am – 4pm, Tuesday 30 April - DHB Design Lab, Christchurch

10am – 4pm, Thursday 2 May - Fusion Virtuoso, Wellington

10am – 4pm, Thursday 9 May - ACC Customer Experience Centre, Auckland

What is the purpose? The purpose of the concept design workshops is to determine how we could practically change the working relationship between general practice and ACC. Together with our partners - NZMA, RNZCGP, GPNZ, NZNO and PMAANZ - we agree there’s a better way for ACC to do business with general practice. Most GP, nurse, and nurse practitioner services are currently funded by ACC via the Cost of Treatment Regulations on a fee-per-visit basis, but this lacks the flexibility needed to improve patient rehabilitation outcomes. With the recent conclusion of our national roadshow, where we explored ‘what better could look like’, we’re now ready to run concept design workshops. The workshops will build on the themes identified during the roadshows.

What to bring? Please bring your ideas and experiences and be willing to share these. Be prepared to listen, question and work with others to create a sustainable and future focused service that meets the needs of the person, suppliers and ACC. Refreshments, lunch and materials will be provided. ACC has a small amount of funding available to support the travel of those clinicians outside the main hubs.

What to expect? The day will be interactive – so be prepared to get involved. We want to hear your feedback and for you to be part of the discussion and debate on how we can change the way we currently work.

We are inviting interest from a wide range of attendees representing General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and Allied Health Professionals. The following organisations are being approached for representation; •

If you or your colleagues would like to attend, it is essential you express your interest by emailing GPconnect@acc.co.nz stating the name and role of the person(s) wishing to attend. Further details of the workshops including a formal invitation, preparation information, and the agenda will be shared with workshop participants when confirmed. Thanks, The GP Connect Team
