At the end of this session attendees will be able to (learning outcomes): • • • •
Understand ancient traditions of rongoā. Understand the relationship and differences between rongoā and how it relates to hauora (health) for Māori and the potential for reducing Māori health inequities. Have an awareness of the complementary factors of traditional and western rongoā including any conflicts that may occur. Have a focus on wellness and healing in place of sickness, in a high stress world. Ka Ora te Whenua, Ka Ora te Tangata. When the land is well the people are well.
