Page 1

!7th March 2021 Kia Ora All, Please find attached the power point and notes page from the Imms Champion meetings that were held on the 9th and 16th March. A BIG thank you to all that attended whether in person or via zoom. To access the notes on the slides please click on “view –> Notes page” Main points: 1. Immsnet- If any child has not had the necessary x3 attempts to contact please do not reply as “following up”. Leave on your list -> make x3 attempts to contact -> then refer to OIS via ImmsNet if needed or reply with another outcome after talking with parents ie declined, delaying etc 2. In regard to the MMR catch ups that need referring, please if your ImmsNet lists are very long try, just send 10 catch up MMR children a month to NIR as OIS may become overwhelmed (concentrating on the under 2 year olds first). 3. Ensure all other babies overdue normal scheduled Imms are referred in a timely manner to give the CIL (Childhood Immunisation liaison) time to make first contact. 4. Please check your secure Inbox even if you have cleared your ImmsNet update queues, NIR send you messages with updates from OIS referrals and may include new phone numbers for parents etc – please ensure new contact details are updated on your PMS. 5. Influenza- season go to www.influenza.rg.nz for all information for 2021 ➢ Please ensure you have ordered needles for the adult flu vaccines as NOT supplied this year. Afluria Quad Junior are the only flu vaccines with needles attached. 6. New Regional IMAC Facilitator Leanne Ryan phone number 0272053719, email leanne.ryan@auckland.ac.nz – this will need to be changed on your Cold Chain Policy 7. Staff training- If you have a staff member taking any responsibility for Immunisations or cold chain please let me know as I can come and give them one on one training 8. If you would like certain staff to also receive update emails from me please let me know their name and email so I can add them to my list, also if staff leave please let me know so I can remove them 9. COVID-19 vaccine training- Nurses in time will receive an email from IMAC with a code to do their training- for more info please see IMAC website as there is a section for COVID19 How to proceed if you receive an Inbox message stating a patient has received the COVID 19 vaccine 10. Please DO NOT create your own Covid vaccination code in the PMS or attempt to load to the immunisation record – this will cause issues with future messaging of the Covid vaccination event 11. When you receive the inbox notification of the Covid vaccination event this information should remain in the patient notes only. 12. Once universal codes, CIR optimisation and PMS upgrades have been completed, all vaccination events from Day 1 of delivery will be sent in format to upload to the patient immunisation record. There was good discussion around managing the flu clinics, I will gather resources (chilly bin log etc) around this and send out to you all in a separate email in a week or so ☺

Once again thank you for all your dedication and commitment to all that are involved for delivering of Childhood Immunisations to our community. Kind Regards

Kerri Lawrence Childhood Immunisation Coordinator
