St John Industrial Action Update – Sending ambulance care summaries to general practices

Overview As you may be aware, St John ambulance staff who are members of FIRST Union will be undertaking industrial action across New Zealand. This is scheduled to commence on Wednesday 4th November. As part of industrial action, ambulance staff who are members of FIRST Union will not be completing an electronic patient report form (ePRF) and will instead be completing a paper patient report form. Staff who are not members of a union will continue to complete the electronic patient report form.

What this means for you •

A ban on completing electronic patient report forms means that you may not receive ambulance care summaries from St John for patients enrolled in your practice for the duration of the industrial action.

Because this form of industrial action is only being undertaken by ambulance staff who are part of FIRST Union, it is likely that you will still receive some ambulance care summaries from St John in the usual manner.

If you have any questions, queries or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us at referrals@stjohn.org.nz.

Thank you for your support during this time.
