I would like to offer my support to those wishing to gain a better understanding of the administrative aspects of the Acute Demand Service. I am happy to come out and visit your practice to discuss the complexity of invoicing as well as Best Practice completion of service referrals, DVT Management Plans, Required Documentation and any other administrative queries you may have. • •
Two helpful reminders that can speed processes: DVT management, Hydration and IV cellulitis all require a copy of the prescription record/ drug chart to be included with the invoice. This ensures payment can occur without delay. Reminding GPs to include their mobile numbers on all CT KUB referrals, ensures the Radiologist can directly contact them with urgent results. Also, including a Mobile number on DVT USS referral after 4pm is also helpful in the event of a positive finding.
Please note that approved CT KUB and Ultrasound referrals are forwarded directly to radiology when we make the appointment - the patients do not need a copy of referral, therefore cannot access the GPs mobile number. Also good to know: if Best Practice Outcomes are completed within 24 hours you can invoice a quick response fee of $18.36.
