Options for patients requiring COVID-19 testing who cannot access a CBAC independently As part of the COVID-19 response, the Bay of Plenty District Health Board is currently developing a range of options and service modifications to meet the needs of patients who develop symptoms which could be due to COVID-19 infection, but are unable to access their local Community Based Assessment Centre (CBAC) independently. Before referring please explore transport options for the patient within their “bubble i.e. there maybe transport available the following day. This is not an acute service. If General Practice identifies a person requiring testing, without transport, please contact the Community Care Coordination (CCC) centre and they will coordinate the most appropriate response. Options for the patient may include a home visit, independent transport or delayed testing. If the patient is unwell and requires urgent assessment then please call St Johns. To contact CCC call: 0800 267 222 (0800 BOP CCC) or email admin@bopccc.org.nz Please include the following information in your referral, basic patient information, consent for CCC to contact the patient and rationale for referral.
